Prices are coming down

Seagate Expansion 3 TB USB 3.0 Desktop External Hard Drive STAY3000102

$139.99 + No Tax and Free Shipping for most.

**I used to buy the USB 2.0 versions for about ~$110 pre-flood and crack them open to extract a WONDERFUL 7200RPM 6GB/sec 64MB Cacche Barracuda ST3000DM001 or Barracuda XT ST33000651AS from the inside. Not sure if the USB 3.0 versions are keeping this tradition alive...but if so...very worth it!

Head on over to the Amazzzon

Very excited for the continued price drop.

Except you've got no warranty on that sucker so if anything goes bad you are SOL. I recommend you crack them open after the first year of warranty if you must.

The drives inside often have it's own warranty; the 2TB Seagates GoFlex drives I've cracked that had ST2000DM001 drives in them all had 2 year warranties, of course YMMV.

Same price at Staples. Bought them there with coupon and potential CB. Green for OP.

You bought this drive in person? Been OOS on the webpage for a while, and none of the FOUR stores around me carry anything over 2TB. Would love to pick this up in store.

good price + your profile picture is awesome. green!

I was going to jump on top of this deal as soon as I read it, but the reviews for this drive have me pull back. I'm confused though because I've always been a fan of Seagate

I *think* the reviews are probably due to the housing and board used...plus no fan on a 3tb 7200RPM drive scares me a little. Must have pulled ~15 of the USB 2.0 versions over the last couple years and zero problems so far. I realize that's not a representative sampling, but putting these in a computer or NAS with great hardware and adequate circulation probably makes a big difference.

Only portable 3tb drive I've ever felt safe using is the Western Digital Elements. Thing is a tank. No issues with any of them I've ever purchased.

Amazzon Women on the Moon (and Kentucky Fried Movie)...two of my favs. Don't know why my wife doesn't share my same high opinion of these movies.

No, bought it from their website last night. It was available for a very short time (someone said they only had 120). Sold out fast, but I got in early enough thanks to your post leading me to check, hence the green.

At the moment, it's on Staples for the same price w/fs but tax...But with Staples you can use the $25 off $75 coupon and get CB...

Dang....will have to keep checking the website to see if there's any chance of it coming back. Thanks.

Yes, but as mentioned previously, it's OOS.

Guess we missed it last night. Keep your eyes peeled people...I would love to pick this up on Stapples and use Ink Rewards +/- coupon.

Best Buy has the Seagate - FreeAgent GoFlex Desk 3TB External USB 3.0/2.0 Hard Drive - Black for 149.99. Could be a local pickup for some. or free shipping http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Seagate+-+FreeAgent+GoFlex+Desk+3TB+...

the 2TB version is on sale for $119, plus 25off75 = $94, still a decent deal.

2TB Seagate Expansion Drive USB 3.0 $119 @ staples

To clarify, you mean at Amazon....
still $139 at Staples, just OOS

Wow...that was fast. Will wait for the next drop....hopefully into the 120's.

Man! I missed out.
I'm looking for drives to drop into my new Drobo.
I have no problems cracking the enclosure open and getting the drive out.
3TB@7200rpm for $139 shipped is a steal these days.

From a Newegg review...."Opened it up and inside is a nice Seagate Barracuda ST3000DM001 3TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive." FWIW

Think it depends on where your drive was manufactured, as to which drive you'd get.

I'll have to check my local Costco again, but I want to say they had this same drive for $139 in Houston.

Hmm....moved to expired, but still alive.

EDIT: Thanks mods...that was FAST!

Dollar drop....now $138.99 and still in stock.

For what its worth, I bought a 2tb version of this in April, cracked it open and it indeed was a 2tb 7200RPM 6.0GB/sec drive. Works ok in the computer but it seems like Seagate has caught on and the warranty on the internal drive is no more. It says mine was bought as part of a package (something like that) and had no warranty on its own.

valid for $138.99 again,thx

Still live...now @ $129.99

Dude, Why excited ? the means it wont go up . It is heading down going forward

Your comment hurts my head. Why am I excited that the price is going down??? o_O

Maybe update the title to show it's 129 now FS, and no tax for most (or maybe put Amazon in title so ppl know if they have it or not before they walk in).

Good deal for 3tb.
