Certain coupon items have quantity limits, hence some cashiers will ask for the exact coupon. Most will scan any coupon and be done with it especially if there is a long line

Others will make you hand them every single coupon. *shrug*And what will they do if you don't give them the coupon for additional items? The register's already given you the discount. Will they override the register? I can't imagine they'd do that (if it were even possible).

I can't imagine they'd do that (if it were even possible). There is one cashier at my local Costco that requires the coupons (at least he did the last time I went to his line). He would manually enter the discount into the register for each coupon (instead of scanning the barcode). I just avoid his line as none of the other cashiers do this.

but thanks for posting the coupons. I don't see the idea also. They should just email and save some money. They used to make us running to the customer desk to ask for a copy if we forgot the coupon but they just scan for everyone now.
Customer service at Costco's in Mt. Laurel, NJ is getting worst also. I'm thinking about Sam's Club but Costco's is on my way to work.
the main reason of the coupons is to entice u to buy something that you normally won't buy. when u see something is discounted, u will think that is a deal.

It always amazes me how people love to take sides with corporations and make them their beloved.
I have Sams Club and I shop with my sister at Costco. I shop wherever it is the cheapest.
Recently I changed 4 tires for my honda pilot, 4 Michelin X Radial LT2. 152 at Sams, and 170 at Costco. No brainer, I got them at Sams Club.
I am looking for a nice mattress, Sealy sold at Costco is better built than the Serta ones sold at Sams club so I will get them at costco. Most other products you find on a daily basis is the same between the two clubs, with costco a few pennies more expensive. Customer service, returns are equivalent.
I wish people would not take sides with these companies as they are there to profit and competition is healthy.

That's nice and all, but it's hard to comparison shop two different members-only warehouse stores with $55 and $40/yr annual fees. I'd bet 90% of people who have been members of one have not been members of the other for several years.

I was a pessimist like the other posters about the value of a Costco membership. I would visit the stores before I got married and wonder who the heck shops here. But, after getting married and having a baby I know why. You can spend your weekend clipping coupons and driving to 2-4 stores or you can get a same or better deal at Costco.
We have the executive membership (2%) and between diapers, formula and gasoline it just makes economical sense. We have cut down our grocery trips down to 3 a month max. It gives me and my wife more time to spend at home with the baby. We are saving gas not going to all the different stores looking for one or two sale items. Costco always has a good stock of items meat, bread and drinks...so they rarely run out.
Now there was a learning curve the first few months at Costco. Like the calculating quantities into ounces when comparing with other stores. Even with sales and coupons at other stores, Costco comes out ahead. Once you do the math you will see the benefits of Costco for yourself. But, please do the math... get a good large sample of items and you will see. I'm a nerd so i have a notebook of how much things cost in my area. Also, the coupon book is a "deal" if not a "steal".
The things I do not buy at Costco (Sams Club) are Tires ,electronics (&Media) and clothes.
For tires I like Discount Tire... they match and beat anyone.
P.S. I like the fact they have a membership that keeps the 'Rift Raft' out... There are no meth labs in the bathroom...LOL

100% agreed... let the savings decide where you shop.

That's the not the way it's supposed to work and it's not their job to redefine how Costco's coupons work.

Now that they have gotten rid of the need to have a coupon for most sales, they're just advertising the sale price on the normal price tag.
