btw fry's return policy on TVs:
Televisions (24" or larger)
Refunds cannot be given on televisions 24" and larger. In-home service is offered by the manufacturer on large TV's and may be your most convenient option. Defective items may be returned within 30 days of the purchase date for replacement or upgrade. Please insure sufficient packaging is used to protect any return shipments. Customer is responsible for any damage caused due to insufficient packaging.
For some reason the big Aquos logo in the upper left is throwing me off, plus a few complaints about backlight bleeding and haziness.
Overall it's probably a great set, just looking for reasons not to throw $1000 bux at it.

OK, this is interesting, when I go to the Fry's website, both the LC-60LE830U (non-3D) and LC-60LE835U (3D) come up for the same price ($999.99).
Great reviews and great deal. My local Fry's has both of them them in stock (according to the website). $999.99 + 6% sales tax. This is a killer deal for either one of these TV's.
Fry's website will let me order one and pick it up. However I want a new one in factory sealed box and am pretty retentive about that. Ad says it could be a demo or open box. Anyone know for sure if when you order on line, that it will be a brand new factory sealed unit? (I really don't want to drive 30 miles each way and have a hassle, which Fry's is known to do...)...

now that is a good reason(backlight bleeding) for me to stay away from the set. I was planning to return my WalMart's Hisense 55'' led 3d purchased for $922 in favour of this set. My only problem with my Hisense is the improper or bleeding back light. I believe it is also called as "flash light effect"

Okay, I'll try.
It's a very good price right now, but if you can wait until next super bowl season, you might get it even cheaper. Prices on TVs now are way more expensive than they were in Jan/Feb.
Big screen OLEDs are due out at the end of the year. OLED is supposed to be superior in almost every way, so I think manufacturers will start putting most of their resources into the production of those. They will be way too expensive when the first arrive, but I'd expect to see the other technologies drop in price after they arrive as the manufacturers unload the older TVs.
That's the best I could do on short notice.

Which location are you referring to and how did you confirm?

I too was concern and hesitant because of the backlight bleeding comments. I checked my TV with LOTR bluray and especially the dark scenes in the mines of Moria and quite frankly I don't see any bleeding. Maybe it's just the luck of the draw but this is a great price.

Believe it when I see it. wish I could be that optimistic but heard that in 2006 OR - 20 more yrs if one worked for Kodak. Even if it did come out, it'd be priced at the extreme.

Use OPs link, add to cart, enter zip code, proceed to check out. Your local store will show up with the inventory status of the TV.

OK, I bit!
LC-60LE830U for $999.99 plus tax at my local Fry's. Factory sealed box. Said it was their last one (Atlanta/Duluth). This is the non-3D version, which is what I preferred even though the 3D was available for the same price yesterday.
Guy at checkout remarked how good a deal this was with a $1,700 discount, as did the guy at the door who checks receipts.
Got to go set it up now. Replacing a POS Sony 60" SXRD-XBR2, and will -NEVER- buy a Sony product again because of how they handled these SXRD defects. Surely not even close to paying a premium price for their now apparent lack of quality.
OK, rant off. Time to get this 830U set up!

These aren't in the stores, they're at the local warehouse, hence the $60 shipping charge. Nice try.

is any one out here concerned that they cannot return the set for full refund if they happen to discover quality issues like "flash light effect"?
