Trying to find an answer to this, is there an easy way to use this as a PVR? Looks like the answer is no, but not sure why that would be as Windows Media Center will work as a PVR. Thanks, sorry for slightly off topic.

The short answers is no, the Xbox 360 itself cannot act as a DVR/PVR.

Where are you seeing that? I can't find mention of the x11 anywhere on the OP's page, the "details" tab, or the picture of the included items...
Elsewhere on Newegg, the refurb x11 is denoted as OOS. Did they yank it from the Xbox page for that reason maybe,,,?

I know nothing about this console, BUT it's $199 new at BestBuy (which is obviously not a great price since we're talking about Best Buy), but what is the typical price for this new via a FW hot deal? $180? $190? So $50-60 savings for a refurb? Just curious...
If it's amazing, why would it surprise you if they went quickly?

I just bought it new (Without the headset) from Target this week. It was $179 and came with a $30 gift card. I did have to pay tax, so it did end up costing me $20 more in total and I didn't get a headset.
Just another option if you don't want a refurb unit.

it was right below here it says free shipping... but i dont see it there anymore.. several other bargain sites also listed it (including the turtle beach headset).. so its possible they have gone through their inventory on the TB headsets.... deal just got alot cooler

Newegg linky $200 is MSRP for new. I think the best deals on these, new, came during the holiday season where several places had them for $200 + $50gc and Target on BF had it for $140 OTD. I haven't really seen those kind of prices since and I think that's pretty typical for video game consoles in general (best prices pre-xmas).
Now, if this was the old xbox360 I'd yell and scream and warn everyone against getting refurb because of all the hardware issues, but I really haven't heard of any common problems with these slim models. Sure you'll probably get as good or better deals on a new one if you wait another 7 months but I think this is a great price right now... and that's not even including this supposed headset offer (which I don't see either)

i think its pretty safe to say that the headset has been pulled now.. as the other person pointed out, the headset is now out of stock... so they were most likely clearing their inventory by using them to entice people to this deal... with that TB headset.. this was a great deal.. without it, its a decent deal.
I guess they pulled the X11 headset but heres a pic from my order earlier

It's refurbed... Amzn had it new (free ship, no tax, 3% Amzn Visa reward) for $199.99 with a $50 GC making it $149.99 for most of us. Cheaper than the refurb w/o the headset.

I was able to snag the X11 auto-add earlier, so good deal for me. I told a friend of mine about it this afternoon who was unable to get it due to them being OOS. Oh well!

How is $149 cheaper than $139?

Soooo...not a good deal without the headset? I have never bought a xbox360 nor seen one this cheap. Trigger finger is itching.

As it stands right now, I think it is an OK deal at best.

I use mine as an extender for my Windows 7 machine (which has an infinitv 4 tuner card) and it works great as a PVR

I do the same, but that doesn't make the xbox a pvr it simply is just a media extender.

I'm not a huge fan of BB either, but your comment on pricing is inaccurate. MS sets the price for the xBox, just like Apple on iPods (& Bose). Unless the selling company gets permission from the manufacturer to drop the price, the company can only bundle games, accessories, gift cards to entice a customer into their store. This is the reason Costco no longer carries Apple, as they wanted to sell it for a different price than Apple would allow.
