Heyyy, FW, how about thank you to ME for posting the photo in the OP FIRST? You'll like the resolution of my photo better anyway!

sheesh.

In any case, I can dig this deal! This will be a tool you put away every night after you use it...or shall we say another tool you put away after use!!!

They have 2 other items for the same discount.

Flat tap shovel and a 16 tine rake

Transfer shovel http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_07183529000P?

Rake http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_07183591000P?

Chuckling .... OK ... U sold me OP. Haven't seen anybody get so excited about a shovel ... I bought the transfer shovel too .. Looks like a deal.

A couple of new garden tools is probably a much better investment than another hard drive or gigabit switch.

OP - Green for you and thanks.

Use Discover Card and save even more! Got one. OP, I've never used one of these before and was wondering if you could come over and show me how it works sometime?

I have this shovel and it is great. I understand OP's enthusiasm.

Don't forget Sears CashBack.. does it apply? and hey if you have a credit card that gives you CB too..

Don't really need a shovel, but how could I resist that sales pitch ?

In for 1 !!

What I really need is a broom...OP, got any suggestions for one of those?

Ordered the transfer shovel and rake. Thanks.

lol... I need a new shovel.

OOPS! Sorry about that. I had a hard time getting it all straight too.

Craftsman club and the Sears site in general are getting more and more complicated these days...

Here is the link for the Craftsman Club Flyer. SEE PAGE 8!!

Great to see you here jplee3!

With all the green this must be a good deal. In for 1.

(I already had a shovel.)

Oh duh, this is a B&M deal...

I'm too lazy to drive out to my nearest Sears right now. Arghhh

Looks like a Father's Day present to me!

I already ordered this but looks like they lowered the price by 5% for the next day to $17.09 vs. $17.99

Don't forget Discover CashBack of 5% vs. FatCash of 3%

Never heard of it called a "transfer" shovel. Learn something new every day.

Couldn't resist. Got the Regular shovel and transfer shovel, both excelent quality.

Signed up for Craftsman Club, searched for Sears item # on craftsman.com website, added to card, but it's still showing $17.09. How do you get it to $16.19?

Great shovels. If you're digging out a stump, use Craftsman for the free replacements.

When getting ready to place the order I simply put in my member # off to the right (i think) and it took $ off

Thanks. Figured out I hadn't finished registration because I couldn't see it (although I was able to login), and finally found member # in my email after that.

Problem was the site doesn't work with Firefox, at least with CS-Lite, Noscript, and Addblock Plus installed, but accepting cookies for craftsman.com, accepting all scripts on craftsman.com, and with ABP disabled on craftsman.com.

picked these up yesterday and they live up to the hype. they're quite incredible. same thing as the $30 husky shovels at Home Depot as well.

Yeah, I did look at Homedepot later, and see their shovels are made by AMES / true temper as well. Their shovels did not have the corrugated blade, but did have a feature that the craftsman didn't: They had "supersocket" a rather elongated socket into which the shovel handle is assembled, and the other thing I liked about the HD shovels was that there is an additional white sleeve on the handle's end. Yes, on the top of the handle. This keeps the tip end of the rubber hand guard stiffer at the end and may keep the rubber hand guard from being poked into the shovel and losing it's tip.....

After all this, I was thinking, that maybe the corrugations actually are making the shovel more difficult to put into the earth... I do like the shovel equally as much as the HDepot ones though.

Thanks everyone for the green votes.

I'm HPMaster and I dig this deal.

HPM.

PS: Always on the lookout for a hot deal, as there are fewer and fewer of them around these days!

Well the wife did say she always wanted to visit China. I guess its time she can dig her way there.
I better buy two.

deal is dead

I think HD has some of those True Temper shoves for about $20 or so? Do they not compare?

The price at HD is nationwide, about $31, so at that price point, no they do not compare.

PS: the shovel is now on "sale" for $24.xx.

Thanks Sears!
