Typically, yes these are in store only. But I will note.

daz,

your OP is wrong.

it is the Staples brand photo paper, not Kodak with the easy rebate. plz fix.

Advertisers/psychologists have a term for this type of advertising. I saw 'yellow' and immediately thought 'Kodak'.

Fixed.

i wait microcenter free 4gb usb flash drive.

Can't find anywhere says "20% Off Kindle Keyboard Models"?

Giving away free Photo paper is an easy trick to get people buy photo printers and then continue buying the Ink.
And these are mostly 4 x 6 which you can get printed in Walgreens or WalMart for 19 cents.
8 x 10 isn't that expensive either. and keep an eye on deals from Walgreens you get from time to time for free.

However, free after rebate photo paper (and paper by the ream) combined with a continuous Ink Supply system (CISS) makes for very inexpensive and convenient printing of photos at home. I have an old Epson RX595 that has printed about a thousand photos and lots of other stuff and it is still going strong after about 4 refills of my CISS equating to about 250 individual color ink carts. The photos look as good or better than I can get printed at the WalMart or the Drugstore.

I'm always keeping my eye out for FAR photo paper and the Staples brand of photo paper seems to work the best with my CISS ink in that the photos look great and the ink dries much faster than it does on the HP paper.

Question from a rookie/idiot -- how is the flash drive free? By signing up for a Staples "rewards" account? Or do i need a specific amount of reward points? (Are reward points in terms of dollars and you'd need $7.99 worth to get this item free?) Don't have a Staples account, don't know anything about this stuff. Thanks, appreciate the help

yep sign up for a free Staples account and you get 7.99$ back on that account as a "reward" you can use that 7.99$ to buy anything at Staples. so its like "free". Some people then use the 7.99$ in rewards to buy a product with a rebate and actually get the Cash Back from the rewards money by sending in the rebate.

Staples needs to pay for people to come into their stores. There is a stock to short.

You are not required to print on them after purchase. I mean, they are great garage sale items that easily goes for $2-$4 ea. I must have sold about 40 packs during the garage sale last year and got another 20 packs throughout this year.

Rewards aren't typically credited until sometime in the next month. I imagine this is no diff.

I don't know where are you having your garage sales. I had trouble getting 99 cents for these.

Only a trick for the naive.

Smart people cash out Staplez rewards with free photo paper, then turn the cash into FREE prints at WalMart, Walgreens, etc. (or free printer, free ink, etc. for the DIYer).

You don't need CISS... if you get a Canon iP3000/iP4000/iP5000/iP6000 printer, generic ink cartridges cost about $1.50 each, and you can recycle them at Staples for $2 in Rewards, which you can cash out by buying FAR paper...

Good info, thanks!

I wish there was something else FAR so I could use my $5/25 coupon on all FAR stuff. I guess I can just find something I can use since the $5 is free. The $3 AR paper seems like a bit of a waste since I don't really need it, but at least I'll get back some of the extra $5.

aarzi, I think he means in addition to that (9.99 x 2 = 19.98).
He's $5.02 off.

Why not get the FAReward flash drive?

Again, because the $5/$25 coupon will reduce the reward. I think this is the right way to determine:

Pay Cashier = $9.99 + $9.99 + $7.99 - $5.00 = $22.97 (+sales tax)
Reward = $7.99 - $5.00 * ($7.99/$27.99) = $6.56
Rebate = $19.98

So this transaction would 'earn' about $3 in rewards.

I was buying the generic cartridges prior to getting the CISS but now even the buck-fifty generics seem expensive because the equivalent amount of CISS ink costs $0.31 or about 1/5th of the price of the generic cartridges. Of course if Staples gives you $2 for them, it changes the equation. I wasn't aware that they accepted generic cartridges. Good to know.

Another good thing about the CISS, however, is that you don't ever have to worry about changing out cartridges - you just fill the tanks when they get low and you can print for a very long time without any effort.

There is a 20% off everything in Office Max's ad next week. Not quite as good as 5 off 25, but still makes it a bit of a MM.

The 5/25 coupon will reduce the amount of the rewards he gets back for buying the drive.

Only if your store actually accepts/matches it. Mine doesn't match any "% off" promotions from competitors.

dazviking said:   Again, because the $5/$25 coupon will reduce the reward.

I understand that the coupon will reduce the reward, but everything is still free after reward/rebate, and the coupon would more than cover the tax.

Thanks for posting

Ummm, where't eh 5/25 that people are mentioning? The 5/25 in the thread applies to cleaning products... Is the other one in a different thread?

There was a posting by MrCheap a few days back about it printing from receipts from Staple's. Or check your Coupons (ETA: "Coupon Wallet") on the Rewards site. Mine had same 16 digit code for both printout and website coupons.

noob question......

If I want to pick up that Acer montitor listed on sale, can I still use a 25/75 instore coupon that does not have a monitor exclusion? The reason I ask is that the terms on coupon state purchase requirement of "purchases to which no other coupon or instant savings offer applies".

Is a sale price considered an instant savings? Thanks!

Most cashiers wont read the fine print before they scan it. Some may. Choose your cashier wisely

Will try, thx...so does that mean they consider sales to be "instant savings"? thx!

Yes but then I could not use my $40 Rewards check to pay for the balance (which would cover all of the tax), since I don't think I'd get any Reward for it (unless things have changed).

Very sad day when the printer died.

How about some history here...they are not easy rebates....not if waiting three months is easy. Don't be a chump. If they wanted to take a price down they don't need to do it by easy rebate.
