Cnet review--
Pros Prints, scans, copies, and faxes. WiFi. Better than par text quality. Fast speed for business applications. Cons No wired network support. Slow photo speed. Low paper input capacity. Bottom Line With a low paper capacity, but fast speed and good-quality text, the Brother MFC-J430w is a good fit as a personal printer in a small or home office.

For those of you who have bought this one in the past, what version of paperport is bundled with the printer? Manual says 12SE, but if someone can confirm it is 14 I am getting one

D'oh, I just bought this printer for $99 a week ago and used a $25 off $75 coupon then. I can't figure out from their site whether Staples would adjust their own price to pricematch. Does anyone know?

yes, they have a 14 day price match policy, just bring in the receipt to get a price adjustment.

Thanks. I know that is what it says, but sometimes they get the newer version bundled. My MFC-6490cw was supposed to have paperport 10se, it came with 11se. I just wanted to see if a previous buyer could confirm if it is still 12 or they moved to 14

So he would need to use another one or lose it on the rebuy.
Online PM would be fine.

Yup, I do my PM's online. normally I get better results. Some managers can be rather snoby with "extreme couponers" as I have been called. Plus, you don't have to drive anywhere

PM to OfficeMax for $59.99, buy something to bring total up to $75 to use $25 off coupon. It's another $10 savings
I bought this printer from Staples online and used $25 off and got PM with $40 refund. Though some people had to buy $15 (for total of $75) worth of stuff to use the $25 off. My rep I spoke to overlooked this fact.

those offers only applied to higher end printers, not $60 Brother printers.

The $25 off coupons all state, not to be used with an item that has any instant coupon. What about that?

LOL...
I just realized I have brought in more than enough of the over priced Epson cartridges to pay for this deal Just dropped off 10 more. Can't wait to be free'd of the 8+ dollar cartridges.
even made money on the 6 aftermarket ones i got off Amazon for 8 shipped (they didn't work in the printer. bad chips)

you're reading it wrong. if your total is over $75 you're fine. if the instant coupon dropped your total BELOW $75, then you are SOL to use the $25/75.

YOu can still use it. you just need "filler" to get it to 75

Hmm, never tried a Brother printer before... any issues? I just picked up a spare printer from Target on clearance. It was the HP Photosmart Plus, last one in the store, at 70% off so it was only ~$45. The photosmart plus has a retail price of $149.99, uses separate color carts, but doesn't have fax or document feeder. Anyone hazard to compare it with the Brother? Just considering returning the HP for the Brother, mostly just in case I need a fax some time.

I don't have this model Dan..
have an older refurb model I got on Staples.com about 4 years ago that I absolutely LOVE! best printer I ever owned, has the doc feed, 4 in 1, not an ink guzzler and the carts are about $1 ea. My annual ink costs are about $10-15 TOTAL! plus I get $2 recycle for each. I use the LC 51 in my machine, this OP machine is a newer model, different inks (think LC-75??).
Mine is NOT wireless but does have the networking set up into the router so it prints off any computer on the same router, so I'm sure the wireless is a nice perk too.
If the one I owned died, I'd buy another Brother in a heartbeat. That pleased with the brand.

The 2 most recent I have as all others state: The $75 must be met to which no other instant coupon applies Staples always shows their discount as an INSTANT COUPON
Adding another item to bring up the total does not negate that.
The stores routinely deny dollar off coupons on that alone.
Am I reading the coupon wrong?

so your saying your annual ink costs are -10 to -15 dollars since you pay $1 for them and get $2 back
I am so buying one of these. my 19.99 epson NX-130 just sucked 38 bucks out of my wallet for ink...
I will use that up before I put the brother in to use though

no, the ink recycle is ON TOP of what I pay. so actually I make money.
I change the carts 3-4x a year depending on use. So worst case is 16 carts for about $16, get $32 back in recycle bucks.
