The CPU Competes with the I3.
AMD has a slower CPU but faster, and better drivers, GPU system.
Intel has a faster CPU but worse GPU.
For me CPU speed has been fine for what most use their system, its been the GPU that has held laptops back. My netbook is AMD as I wanted a better GPU.
Solid deal, but odd that a 17 incher on a pretty good cpu doesn't have an independent vid card.
Too many games these days require indepedent vid card.

Which one is better?Expert opinion please.. Asus Laptop (X54L-BBK2), Intel® Core™ i3-2330M (2.2GHz), 15.6" LED-backlit HD Display, 4GB DDR3, 320GB HDD, UMA Graphics, Multiformat DVD±RW/CD-RW drive with double-layer support, 802.11 b/g/n, Webcam, Facial Recognition Software, Windows 7 Home Premium » for $329.99 at Best Buy
I was comparing Toshiba C675-S7104 side-by-side with this HP G7-1318dx for a few times, actually two trips to BESTBUY. ( I was looking the cheapet 17" but still looks good on my wife's writing table )
Both priced at amazing $349.99, there isn't really much to complain. I like Toshiba's Intel because Sandy Bridge B960 is running neck to neck with my old arrandale i5-430m. ( Windows WEI 6.2 for old i5 and 6.1 for B960 - of course, I know we don't meausre performance by those numbers )
HP G7 equipped with new AMD Llano A4-3320m. ( YES, 3320m with 2MB L2, NOT 3305m with 1MB as stated on HP website ) Running WEI @ 5.6, G7 is not exactly that slow.
It sounds obvious, isn't it? NOT FOR ME! I end up choosing HP G7 because... 1. Its silver case match my wife's lamp post...... 2. Its SRS Premium sounds louder and better. 3. It has 3-usb / 1-HDMI, where Toshiba decided to cut corner. (not that I will ever use it!) 4. I could upgrade to A8 later, because CPU is not solder in. ( Toshiba might be able to, as well )
so, you should be happy with either one. ( If this is for myself, I might actually get the Toshiba, because its bare, not-painted case, will be easier for me to clean up )
