5qt. G-Oil Synthetic Motor Oil (5w-30) FAR $26 Rebate EXTENDED thru 05/06/12 at WalMart
Green Earth Technologies is offering a $26 mail-in rebate when you purchase 5qt. of G-Oil Synthetic Motor Oil at WalMart. Click here G-Oil Rebate Form & print your rebate. Offer is valid thru May 6, 2012.
Note, after clicking "Print Limited Time Mail-in Rebate Offer", each rebate is generated with a unique certificate ID and can only be printed once.
Only available at WalMart and only select WM's at that. Use the store checker on G-Oil's website to see which local WM's should stock it. Can also look up the G-Oil on WMs website and check availability (I picked up some this weekend for the last rebate in a store that was showing out of stock online but had plenty when I looked in the store, so you never know)
Is anyone else getting paranoid? I have participated in about 5 of these offers so far and have been paid on 4 of them (I just submitted a claim that ended 4/22/12). Now that they are offering back to back rebates so close apart is getting me nervous.
As Per G-Oils Website:
Due to Popular Demand:The 5Qt Rebate has been EXTENDED for purchases. OLD DATES: 4/1/12 through 4/22/12 NEW DATES: 4/1/12 through 5/6/12
A New Rebate for the 1 Qt Bottle of G-OIL has been added for purchases good from 4/22/12 through 5/6/12
I need the form dated: NEW DATES: 4/1/12 through 5/6/12 Thanks.....

WARNING: Current rebate offer (GT 12-8421, 4/22/2012-5/6/2012) is the same as the previous rebate offer (GT 12-8421, 4/1/2012-4/22/2012) here. Consumer may not obtain rebate since the offer is the same. Caveat emptor.
So, does one per 'name/household/address' mean the most restrictive interpretation, one per address, or the most liberal interpretation, one per name at an address? Why put the name part in? How many claims do they think they will have to reject for people with multiple homes?
Also, does the one rebate per ??? mean you could still do the 5quart and 1quart since they are separate rebates or is it either rebate (so the 5quart is best)?

They do this every month. How can they afford to do this every month?
My WalMart doesn't have this, I just get the WalMart full syn for $20. If they had this, I might try it.

You need to go to their website and put in your zip code to see which store has it. Not all the Walmarts carry the oil so you might have to go to a different one.

Great for 95% of car drivers who change oil under 10k miles. It's a no-brainer when it's free or $5 and it's American.
For those questions about the rebate. You can turn in only one rebate per promotion. That link takes you to two promotions: GOIL Earth Day and GOIL Earth Month Celebration. You can turn in one of each. Yes they had several rebates. As long as you keep track of which promotions you already turned in you'll get the rebate just fine. I eventually learned this after my 5th GOIL rebate.
By the way, they changed (at least from what I remember) their rebate system. You can track it online now.
Keep buying. As long as WalMart knows that this stuff is flying off their shelves and they can't keep it in stock, they'll keep buying more from GOil. Which is all GOIL wants... WalMart buying more from them.

How long do they take to pay their rebates? My Daytona rebate has still not been paid.

Definitely agree with your last point. I'll pick one up later today even though I have enough full synthetic oil to last for at least the next 5 years. I may have to base my next car purchase on the type of oil it uses (Hello, Ford Ecoboost...)
GOil seems to be new enough still that they're still looking to build critical mass in terms of consumer awareness, retailer demand, etc. Despite all it's drawbacks, WalMart is great at taking things from zero to mass-market. And if it employs more Americans and saves the planet, all the better.

Beware!
This is not a new promotion.
The rebate form has new purchase dates, but the promotion number is the same as the previous one (GT12-8421).

I do change my car's oil. It's a hassle and takes longer than what would happen if I were to take it to a car dealer or a car shop (read: not having lift machinery), but worth it knowing what goes in (specific oil, oil filter, washer) and out (color of oil, any debris, etc...) and how the work is done. It's easy once you do it a few times...

Not sure why my browser (IE8) is not providing me the link to the PDF. When it takes me to the page, it only shows the video link, the "name", "e-mail", and "send e-mail".
After sign up for the e-mail, the link in the e-mail took me back to the same page, which still no PDF.

They get more investors to fund their business.
I buy the oil each time the rebate renews. I've got 2 rebates that haven't been paid but the timeframe between mailing and receiving check has stayed about the same.

Placed some information in the quick summary for this deal to warn people about the same offer. Waiting to see if the company would revise the rebate. If not, will pass on this deal.

My experience with time expended differs. Doing it myself in my yard saves at least an hour over driving somewhere and waiting my turn...between the saved time, the saved money, and never having to worry about an inattentive teenager or overscheduled expert forgetting to put my drain plug back in properly, it's a huge win.

I picked up 5 Qrt from WalMart and I can't pull UPC symbol out of it. The whole lable and the UPC Code is a screen print on one of its side. The MIR form clearly says to cut the UPC code on the back of the can. I am going to return to WalMart rightnow.

I think others have mentioned using a hair dryer on the UPC code to lift it off from the jug.
Also I just pay my mechanic $10 to change the oil and I give him the oil and filter. Otherwise if I don't need anything fixed, I might go to quickie oil change place and wait til next time. Then again, I usually go between 5-8k between oil changes, I alternate between synthetic and synthetic blend.

Yes, I also change my own oil. I've had a couple of awful experiences with oil changes from Jiffy Lube and similar crappy places. Those kids that change your oil are absolutely clueless... So it is a bit easier for me I change the oil on all of my cars on the same day so I only have to get dirty one time. The peace of mind that I've used the correct oil & premium oil filter, that the oil level is where it should be and that the drain plug is nice and tight is priceless for me.

I buy this oil for topoffs. I don't change my oil myself although I am a former ASE master tech. I don't have a garage so in the winter I don't really have a place. In the summer.. well.. I'm lazy and oil changes are loss leaders for most shops.
A local shop sends out 15 dollar oil change coupons like clock work. it's their express lube so I am in and out in 15 minutes or so and I get to watch.
I tend to change my oil once a month at the 5-6K mark.

Just bought a 1 QT and a 5 QT at my local Wal-Mart. The UPCs are kinda hard to get off. If you have a hair dryer handy, it works wonders. If you don't, good luck on not tearing the crap out of them cause they are on very well.

Take a hair dryer to it for about 60-90 seconds. It comes off very easily after that. I stuck mine to a sheet of paper and then cut them out of the paper. Easy and done!
