This is great. I made a lot of use of this last time they had it over the winter holidays. Thank OP.

Thanks OP

I think I remember reading on this board of the guy who kept buying gift cards with gift cards and getting an endless supply of burritos. . .
Just sayin!!

Does it come with a supply of Chipotlaway?

</south park reference>

Thanks, bigfanwallet. I'll go get one today. Yummy!

Only worked once for me. Then every store I tried within 20 miles radius refused to let ppl buy GC with GC. Apparently so many ppl were abusing it.

I wonder if there's any cashbacks from CCs to combine with.

a good way to boost their earnings

Discover offers 5% on Restaurant purchases. Would that apply to GC purchases at a Restaurant?

Yes, it would. Any purchase at that restaurant would count.

I find there food lacking in flavor and value. Almost $8 for a burrito? W/O a drink or chips!!? Lame. My "steak" was half inedible gristle, half fat. Seems like it used to be better when they first opened, but could just be rose colored hindsight. You can make better "mexican" at home.

Try barbacoa instead of steak.

They talked me into steak as that was supposed to be more highly spiced than all other offerings. It wasn't. Still, for the price of one burrito you could feed a family of four at home. Sick of these "fast food" prices.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the correct accounting method is to only consider the money as revenue only when it's (giftcard) spent. In the meantime, it's classified as a liability...

Given your name, I understand your dilemma

I won't eat at a mexican restaurant that serves white rice

LOL I assume you're kidding.

I guess she should have said "a good way to boost their cashflow".

"it depends" After X months, many companies will consider it cash flow assuming the card was lost, forgotten, etc. It varies from 24-36 months. And is fully acceptable. But, "you're right" in inferring that it is not immediately accretive to earnings when the GC is sold, but incorrect in that is must be spent, as the only option for being pushed to the other side of the debit/credit column.

Be careful, last time this same deal came around they F*ed me up by giving me a card with 0 balance. By the time I realized, I did not have my receipt already. Because I traded that darn receipt for a free burrito. Most expensive single burrito in my life.

Pretty smart marketing. Sell one Burrito for $30.

I wish chipotle introduced something like the starbucks loyalty program... load gift card up and then be able to earn rewards by repeating eating there. Also a nice app (for the phone, not to eat)

I like starbucks program, besides getting a personalized card, I can load up monthly amount and only use that much for the month. I hated seeing a couple $ charges on my billing statements.

This is a good deal!

I notice they have cut back on the amount of steak they put in the burrito - to the point I have to say something about them not even giving me a spoonful (when it used to be like 1½). Not sure if that's the same everywhere or just the new employees not caring.

I mean as in non-mexican rice (cooked in chicken brooth with tomatoe and spices)

I wonder if they'd let me buy 6 x $5 GC's? Terms don't say it has to be one $30 GC, just $30 or more in GC's in a single transaction which 6 x $5 GC's would be. And since CA law says a retailer must cash out GC's with less than $10 value when asked.... free burrito.

Thanks OP.

Qdoba has a rewards program that's pretty legit. And people will swear their allegiances to one or another. But to me, a giant burrito is a giant burrito.

nice!

What insane person eats that many carbs in this day and age? And if they do, at Chipotle?
