This is 9mm thick - would it fit in a Dell E6220 (just if anyone would know off hand)

9mm is normal laptop 2.5" hard drive height. 7mm is the thinner profile that apparently ultrabooks like.
Awesome price for the top-end version of the 330. You will be getting the fastest 330 compared to it's smaller sized brothers. Too bad it's Sandforce based. If the price were even lower, maybe I'd be willing to try it out. I just don't like Sandforce controllers. Their history is sordid. It took Intel a year to work things out. Also when terribly abused, beyond what most of us would do, they don't recover performance even with TRIM.
By the way, I'm an Intel fan. Owned the X25-M (G1,G2) and 320 (G3), but I'm skipping this 330. In fact, I've been very critical of OCZ, but they finally seduced me with their Marvell based Petrol (low latency just like the Intels) that is currently $80 for 128GB.

And, yet, 90% of Americans float our lovely U.S. Government $1000's a year (all, interest-free to our government), in hopes of getting those $1000's back a year later. Ironic, huh?

"Cost optimized for the transactional channel sement"
LOL, translation please?
"This product line will have a short product life cycle with EOL in 2H'12 transitioning to next generation lithography. Therefore, this product is not recommended for the following markets: datacenter, embedded, OEM, and any design with long-term product life requirements due to potential for rapid product changes."
I'll translate this one ... BACK UP YOUR DATA! (OFTEN)

No it will not work in a Dell Latitude E6220, most of Dell's 3rd generation E series latitudes (E6x20) use 7mm thick drives.

Have a link to that $80 OCZ Petrol 128GB handy?

I wonder if I should start my 1st deal thread. There already is a link for it in the expired deals, but it's actually still alive. That $80 is fairly hot, but not as hot as when it was about $65 about 2-3 weeks ago.

From what I understand, the SSD is a single circuit board inside the casing. If you're stuck with it, I would suggest taking the circuit board out of the case and try installing the bare drive inside your laptop.
I'm guessing that this will invalidate any warranty.
