Thank you OP for posting.

It seems like $250 has been the price lately and below is some discussion on FW about the speakers.

^ One person from that first thread said:
According to a MartinLogan rep I spoke with, the MLT-1 and MLT-2 are not designed or manufactured by MartinLogan. Both models are re-badged Paradigm-designed speakers made in China. The only thing that MartinLogan has done is put its name on them. The rep did confirm that both models are acoustic suspension speakers.

Seems like maybe these Polks would be a better deal next time they're $250 again.

What he is probably thinking is that they are using technology by Heir in which the patent ran out and the high freq are especially good with this tech. Martin Logan makes great stuff..this model is from China but so is: Sony, Panasonic, Apple, et al. Polk is made in Vietnam...that's right.

even if what the ML rep said is true, both Martin Logan and Paradigm make better speakers than Polk. That said, the only way to really judge speakers is to listen to them yourself.

Good points about the manufacturer, however both seem to have great reviews on Newegg. I'm actually debating between the two sets myself right now.

One thing I really prefer about this set is that it uses binding posts for all the connections, whereas the Polks use spring terminals.

Unless you have a local retailer where you can hear both side-by-side to decide for yourself which sounds better, it's certainly hard to decide which is 'best' for you. Still, for what it's worth, I'm currently leaning towards these.
