AMD C-60 is too slow. Use it for web surfing or notes only. I will bid $250 on a gently used iPad2 for that kind of task.

It is a full blown laptop, not some iPad2 only for average Joe. With 320GB/4GB, you could not go wrong with it.

Great lappy. I bought this last year slapped an ssd in it with only 2gb of ram. I currently use it as my primary computer in place of my thinkpad x series which i love but it is slightly heavier, i used this because i can abuse it and do not have to worry about the investment. It runs everything i need, i never shut it off, always on standby with several spreadsheet, word dic, pdf, and dozens of browser tabs open at anyone time and it runs well. the screen and graphics are amazing for theprice, best screen for price i have seen. Greathigh resolution, color and brightness. Battery used to be a good 6 hours but after a year of intense usage i get maybe 3.5 hours a charge now.

I am using this laptop now. I bought it a couple of months ago from Acer on eBay.
I paid $250 for a refurbished one with 4GB and 500GB. I prefer it for my everyday use because it is very portable.
Only issue is that it runs hot, which means the fan runs quite a bit. Other than that I'm very pleased. You can't go wrong for this price.
Has HDMI out.

Would this make a decent low power HTPC?
This has HDMI and windows media center. Just need a network tuner and network storage.

I have this laptop, and the C-60 is noticeably slow for running Firefox; however, Chrome works decently for me. Other than that, it's fine for general web surfing and similar, and 1080p YouTube plays fine due to the GPU acceleration.

Is this the same that Target had for $197 a while back? I remember buying one with same specs but wasn't called a Laptop it was clearly a hyped Netbook, due to annoying fan noise I returned mine to Target the next day.

Any way to to get them to accept the coupon on-line? I'm traveling and there is no Staples within 200 miles of me - sure would like that extra $50!

IT IS NOT A LAPTOP, IT IS A FREAKING NETBOOK
unless you absolutely need something this small, you can get something much better for $300...
....it's hard on the eyes trying to read from it unless you're close enough to fog up the screen
...biggest gripe being the keyboard, which sinks down every time you push a key

For online purchase, coupon code 49945 should work.

Had this computer for awhile. Great machine. Sold it to get on the Dell 14" deal that Staples had awhile back. I do miss it. I even used the Acer for light Photoshop work, and it did the trick. A great buy at $249 if you want one. Can't beat the portability.

Has HDMI out. I got that one from eBay, too. It's pretty nice.

I got in the Target deal last summer for this with the C-50.
Using it now.
Pros: Much more powerful than the old school Atom netbooks of past Nice high-res LCD can play HD movies Can even use Photoshop for light touch-ups 6Hr battery when new HDMI
Cons: 3-4 hour battery life now Still slow when multitasking keyboard is "meh". Better than 10.1" netbooks, but the keys aren't that defined and there is a good amount of keyboard flex. HD Videos occasionally stutter (mkv's through VLC Player)
It was great for school as I could always keep it with me. I'll probably sell it soon though and pick up a 13 or 14" laptop with an i3 though. There have been too many times that I've tried to be semi-productive (aka, on vacation and wanting to edit photos), and the system just can't keep up.

Here we go again... Truth be told, it seems to be between the Atoms and the 2nd generation of i3s.
Probably NOTBOOK is a good hybrid term for it.

May want to look for an acer 1430z on eBay these have core 2 duo cpu so they will be faster. I got one for $200
My biggest gripe with this form factor acer is the touchpads really stink
Note that the thinkpad x120e pops up on Lenovo outlet for $320ish from time to time this probaby is the best of the cheapo 11.6 puters
