I got on at 5 bucks and they work! After using three of other brands that shorted out and blew fuses this one didn't! I use a Garmin and a Samsung Note!

Thanks OP! In for one. A little scary about the one person who had it melt, but I'm guessing he was maxing out the power limits of the outlet too (usually about 180 watts, because there is a max 15-amp fuse for most car 12v outlets (sometimes less).

Are you sure you are talking about the same product? Cause I think this thing only have a few wires inside, no other component. No reason for it to get hot.
