I have a couple of newbie questions re SSDs - My current laptop HDD uses McAfee Endpoint Encryption v5.2.8 to encrypt the HDD. Will this (or any other SDD) work with McAfee Endpoint Encryption, and also will cloning the HDD to SSD work?

To the cloning part yes if you use most current cloning software it should allow you to choose what to clone to the SSD.

This is the way to go, especially if you are new to SSDs! I have had great experience with these Crucial drives, but very poor experience with those running the Sandforce controller (not to name any names)...
