Sears has the LG 50PA4500 50" Plasma HDTV in their sales add for $499.99. I picked one up last night.
2 HDMI ports and 720P. I have the older model of this TV from a few years ago and would highly recommend it. Looks perfect for my cable HD TV and my up-converted DVD movies.

Same price at BestBuy this week (as much as I dislike BB, thought is was worth a mention) : http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=1218551139132&type=pr...

Also to note the 1080p version of this tv (50PA5500) is onsale too for $650 at Dell : http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&...

and at Paul's TV : http://www.paulstv.com/Store_Products/LG-50PA5500-Plasma-HDTV.as...

I went and ordered the 50PA5500 myself as an upgrade to my current 2 1/2 year old 42" 720p Samsung plasma . I was really happy with the Samsung , so I hope the same for the LG (and from what I saw instore , I wont be dissapointed) .

Just for abit of info for those that are new to Plasma's , make sure you "break-in" you plasma correctly (100+ hrs). (I myself usually do 200 hrs)

Amazon.com is also offering it for $499.99 with free shipping. You have to add it to your cart to see the price. Good reviews for this set on Amazon as well.

Does Dell.com price match the TV @ $500? I have a gift card I'd love to use...

Reception System - TV Tuner: NTSC - no digital tuner. If you use an OTA, you'll need an add on box. Otherwise, for most (using cable etc), it won't matter.

TV has a digital tuner. I received over 140 channels with a roof-top antenna.

Waiting for BestBuy.com to become an online-only store so that I can use their Gift Card without paying 6% premium in MI. :-D

Nice price for a LG 50". Even though its 720p....Green OP!

Specs on this one say analog in 2 places. Glad to hear you get so many channels though. I'd just BBW on it & confirm. Doesn't make sense for it to be analog as they stopped making them years ago. Typo?

rakimoto said:   1024x768 PC resolution = failAre you sitting closer than 10'? If not, you can't see the dif. So many people worried about meaningless #s with compressed sources. Just enough knowledge to be dangerous.

Thanks OP and stereo55. I've been sitting on a BB gift card for who knows how long waiting for a TV like this (good tv, <$500 before tax, >46 inches). I'm now $539.99 (after tax) closer to never having to go back to BB again!

Did in store pickup, i'm getting my new TV tonight.

I hate 720p as I cannot read any text on it ... would be all over it if it is a 1080p. good deal though if you do not care.

topcashback.com is 6%

Heading over to pick up today!

I am not obsessed with numbers i currently have a 720p tv but with the correct 1360x768 resolution that does not look stretched. A 4:3 resolution does NOT look good on a 16:9 panel.
