Reward Chart
Total Purchase Amount → Reward
$400.00 - $500.00 → $75.00

---------------------------------------------------

1 - Dell allows three total forms of payment for an order (ie. promo card, promo card, paid card are three forms of payment)
2 - Non-promotional gift cards, aka paid cards, can be consolidated ($400+$400+$400 = 1x $1200card)
3 - Promotional cards cannot be consolidated ($50x3 = 3 separate cards) but they can be stacked (see Example 2 below)
4 - If you have a balance, your credit card counts as form of payment
5 - You can use multiple gift cards by calling in (the website limits you to one)
6 - The cards can be used at Dell Home, Dell Small Business, and Dell Outlet but not Dell Financial Services

Example 1:
Item's price ~$1325
Buy 3x $400 paid cards, get 3x $75 promo cards
The 3x $400 paid card can be consolidated into one $1200 paid card
Total Payment:
$1200 paid card
$75 promo card
$50 left over for credit card (plus tax and ship or whatnot)
*Can only use one promo card here because the residual balance will be more than the other promo card can cover and the credit card must be used to cover the rest.

Example 2:
Item's price ~$800
Buy 2x $400 paid cards, get 2x $75 promo cards
The 2x $400 paid cards can be consolidated into one $800 paid card
Total Payment:
$75 promo card
$75 promo card
$650 (plus tax and ship or whatnot) on consolidated paid card. Have $150 balance (less tax and ship) on paid card.
*Can use both promo cards here because the residual balance is a credit

Nice deal if you combine it with the 25% off from Dell outlet

I may do this to reduce the price on a plasma tv Ive been considering ; but it seems you have to wait 6-8 weeks on the $75 gc (as its not an instant receive) .

Is there tax on these gift cards ????

The egift card offer will combine with the Dell outlet deal.

No tax paid when purchasing the egift cards.

The $75 promo egift card should arrive within a couple of hours or less.

Great info (hence e in the giftcard description , so instant vs the 6-8 week thing ... I got it now ) , and thx!

*edit* I did call a Dell rep and said I will be charged tax on the e-giftcards since Iam in Calif ? This was an east-Indian lady (outsourced) and abit hard to understand , so again her info may or may not have been understood entirely correct .

Example 1: said:

It should be $75 promo cards, right???

Yes. Copy and paste error from 300/50 deal last month.

This is a GREAT deal.

Something to think about when making a large purchase...

Tax on giftcards? That doesn't sound right. Can anybody confirm when the $75 e-giftcard comes?

Definitely no tax. I'm in CA.

BTW, online gift card (non-promo) consolidation works, but each time a small amount (<$0.50) is deducted. I don't know why, and it's not really worth my time to ask Dell about it.

Works for me. Try www.dell.com/giftcards

The couple of times I have done similar offers the promo card email has arrived either at the same time or soon after the paid card email.

Cool and thx to both members for the info (that can save me $40+ right there on using a $500 gc towards a purchase)

Ok next question , anyone have problems using the "purchased-pre paid" e-giftcard along with "free" e-giftcard in the SAME purchase ? Dells abit vaige on this and a SD member said he had to phone in his order (vs online) in order to be able to use both e-giftcards in a single purchase. Seems you cant combine the two amounts into a "single card" ( I understand that) , but its not clear enough on using both in a single transaction .

Here's the info from Dell on this matter : http://www.dell.com/content/topics/topic.aspx/us/segments/dhs/gi...

TIA

online yourself: 1 GC + credit card
phone or chat: 3 GCs, or 2 GCs + credit card

Each GC can be promo or regular.

Perfect answer and again thx .

Looks like I'll have to do this by phone then and miss out on $26 in FatCash ; but the other benefits/price reductions outweigh it in the end result .

*sorry for being such a Dell noob , but its been ages since I made a purchase from them.

$75 is promotional gift card, with expiry date. Can't be consolidated.
You can only apply one giftcard to an item.
I tried to buy a lens for $475, it took the giftcard for $400 and then the site asked to pay the remaining amount with creditcard did not allow to pay the remaining with another giftcard.

You need to call in the order
