This sounds like a good deal! There are a lot of times when one Lowe's store is clearing out a certain model, that other stores will follow. The clearance prices may not be the same, but it is a pretty good bet that most of the stores will clear out similar models.

Just a reminder that this fan takes candle base bulbs and the CFL's for candle base bulbs are not common (meaning there aren't hundreds of manufacturers in China for making it) and very expensive.

$31.99 at my store. It says "remote control adaptable" I wonder what that means. I'd be interested in getting it if it has a remote. We have vaulted ceiling in our guest room so no one can ever adjust the fan. It is either off or on unless they are going to try to clibm up to it!

"remote control adaptable" means you can purchase separate remote control unit and it will work with this fan. A a matter of fact this can be true for almost all ceiling fans.

I never seem to be able to get any of these Lowes and Home Depot sales posted. Here at my Lowe's - it's $79.98! Go figure.

I found 1 20m away for 31$. Normally I don't get in on anything like this either. In my case, I'm in for 2.. right now we have a 10 ceiling fan that is so noisy, + it buzzes when the light is off! I turn the light on, and the buzzing goes away. Annnoyyinng.
Thanks Op!

I would jump on this if its was a Hunter. But after dealing with several failed Hampton Bay and Harbor Breeze ceiling fans I am sticking with the better quality ones. Harbor Breeze seems likes its a better build that the Hampton Bay (Home Depot) fans but I hate climbing a ladder every few years to replace/fix a crappy fan.

To those who bought this or any other fan with the caldleabra base, there are adapters available for around $2 that would convert the base to standard/medium base so the standard CFL bulbs could be used. So far, I'm only able to find those adapters at Menards. If you want to use candleabra base CFLs, Lowes carry those but as lidiachang posted, they're bit more expensive than regular CFLs.

just a note Springfield's models do not work with CFL's. Also they do not take the regular thread bulbs they need candelabra base bulb. Which are arounf $15 for 4. I had to go through 4 sets of CFL bulbs and lots of parts changes over months to learn Springfield's models do not work with CFL's. In the end I was able to swap with a Springfield II model which they claim to work with CFL's

Wish I could have gotten two of these for $32 each, but never could find them locally or for shipping.
Here's an interesting option at Home Depot for something very similar. $49.88 each, with free shipping. Excellent reviews. Comes with light kit, and 3-CFL bulbs (medium base, not candelabra). Sure, $18 more than the OP ceiling fan, but at least this one is available, and has free shipping, and regular light bulb base.

I was leaving Lowes Sunday wondering why the guy before me in line was buying 12 ceiling fans ... now I think I know why

I have this fan in my huge bedroom and it's great. No noise even at the highest setting but the lightbulbs exploded right after we moved here and I could not find any that fit. So,it says it uses 13watt candelabra bulbs ?
