smeagle said: Great price, still burnt over the poor performance of my Lenovo A1 (7 inch screen). So, I'll pass. Understandable, just a note though, the A1 is Lenovo's first generation tablet and runs Android 2.3 gingerbread, this is a second generation tablet building on the errors of its predecessors and runs Android 4.0 ICS. I wouldn't draw conclusions on the performance of this tablet based on the A1.
Klauven said: Are there different versions of the S2? Some reviews I found were saying 1.5ghz. Nope, it is capable of 1.5GHZ, but is underclocked to 1GHZ by Lenovo, likely to extend battery life. You could install apps that let you overclock if you want however.

Performance between this and the A500 is probably nearly equivalent(they both have essentially the same tech specs) however the Acer is a brick compared to this tablet. Google the dimensions. There are deals on both of these tablets new, and at $299 IMO the Lenovo wins for having the slightly better TI OMAP 4330 over Tegra 2 and much slimer, ipad2 equilivent dimensions.

this one use Qualcomm Snapdragon dual core , the others use Tegra 2/3.
I tried quite a few Snapdragon Tablets/Phones, video are all very bad. graphics is also not good.
these Snapdragons are not as good as even Tegra 2, Tegra 3 is better than Tegra 2, IPAD3 is even better.

This does NOT have the Qualcomm Snapdragon, it has the TI OMAP 4430, and TI 4430 is slightly better to Equal Tegra 2 and both of those are > Snapdragon I agree. Please look at the specs before you comment.
10.1 inch 1280×800 IPS Display 1.5GHz dual core Snapdragon 8960 processor 1GB RAM 16GB/32GB/64GB Internal memory AndroidForums is WRONG. Lenovo's own website says TI OMAP, I think Lenovo knows what they are putting in their own tablets. Android Forums didn't even get the storage capacities correct. It isn't 16BG/32GB/64GB, it's 8GB/16GB/32GB.

So does new Samsung 7" at $249
yeah but no hdmi, thicker build, and only 8 gb. Yep and not to mention that is a 7" tab vs a 10" tab. I think at this moment in time, this Lenovo $299 deal is the best bang for your buck,asI can't see any other current deal close to this, dollar for dollar. It's the best current deal for a NEW, Midrange, 10" Tablet.

I believe the confusing part is that Lenovo website sell the ideal pad 9.7" w/ ARM processor while all the reviews in the web is for for 10.1" with the snapdragon processor.

Clearly, those "reviews" were of the old prototype units from CES. This tablet just launched for sale on June 4th on Lenovo's website. If you want current info, just read Lenovo's site, a 1st party source. The 3rd party sites haven't caught up to the actual unit now for sale.

I didn't see one on their website, but I also didn't look for it.

Guys, can any one explain the difference between Tegra 2 and ARM Cortex A9 processor that is used by this S2 Ideapad? Forgive my lack of knowledge, is it like Intel and Athlon?

Just google the two processors and read upon them. They are basically equivalent.

Keyboard dock? - This is the question I have as well. That's what would make me purchase this. I need a keyboard for some applications, so it's either this or the Asus.

Talked to Lenovo - answered my own question. This model S2109 CANNOT connect to a keyboard dock.

Comes with Android 4.0, which is a plus. Besides that, Android tablets are all the same..

Wrong.
This 10" tablet is $100 cheaper thatn the cheapest 10" Samsung model, has TI OMAP 4430 over Tegra 2, thinner build, lighter weight, is 32GB instead of 16GB on Samsumg's cheapest 10" model, and has both micro USB and micro HDMI out.
I would hardly call that "the same", this Lenovo is a far better deal.
And the Samsung DOES have Android 4.0 too so the difference you noted isn't even an actual diffeence.

hundred bucks difference, not really apples to apples.

hundred bucks difference, not really apples to apples. True, that's what I wrestled with. In the end, I decided that for me:
$100 savings +thinner & lighter build+ micro USB port > Tegra 3
For some, maybe the Tegra 3 is worth the tradeoffs. I'm happy with my choice.

For some reason I keep buying Android tablets and keep returning them, none could satisfy me...I keep going back to my beloved Blackberry Playbook, I know it has some missing apps but for the apps I needed(webex is one of them) I tried numerous Android tablets, none could deliver me overall a tablet experience that it is intended for example : desktop class browsing, seamless flash video playback, HDMI out 1080p and build quality or weight factor. In the last few weeks I have tried and returned many Tablets including Sony S, Galaxy 2 7/10.1, Thrive, Touchpad, Lenovo S1 etc (again reason being either they are sluggish or the browser keep crashing on flash intensive sites). Once Cisco releases Webex to playbook I will mostly done with my perfect tablet search that satisfies my overall needs, IMHO if your primary intention is to browse the web and watch online videos (which I do a lot) don't look beyond BB Playbook.
