Wasn't the threat of lawsuits the thing that brought us the TSA and Homeland Security? Seems to me the airlines won that one.

Next time someone sues the airlines we might end up with local police using night vision goggles to see if you have your seat belt on or license plate recognition scanners and drones to make sure you are not breaking the law.

Luckily, we have a strong 4th Amendment which protects Individuals from Government or Industry should they ever try to impose these things on us.

thank op, hope that the fly attendant not going to take away my ebook to prevent me reading this while flying.

We need Codename47 to chime in on if this is a good read or not. I imagine he'll have a few thoughts on the matter.

Is there a PDF of this or some way I can read it on my computer ? I don't have a kindle

Amazon has a web based Kindle reader. Kindle Cloud It even shows an option for offline reading.. not quite PDF but you can read free Kindle books without any special device.

We successfully sued Delta when we flew ComAir (Delta subsidiary) and they lost our bag and then gave us the runaround.

Did it in local small claims court, and Delta hired a local lawyer to represent them.

Showed up for our first date, and Delta had filed a motion to postpone (they didn't show up the day we did, but the day before).

Showed up for the second date, and the judge said to the Delta lawyer "don't you want to settle with these nice people?"

Delta lawyer said no. We were given a third court date. Showed up again and again the judge asked Delta lawyer "Don't you want to settle with these nice folks?"

Delta again said no. Judge got off his bench, went into his chamber. He came walking out while thumbing through a law journal. He found what he was looking for, walked over to the Delta lawyer, put it on the table in front of him and pointed to it while asking "are you SURE you don't want to settle with these nice people?" To which the Delta said "Yes".

I never found out what he refered the lawyer to, but we had an offer within a couple of days, and our settlement check within a couple of weeks.

We lucked out, we were graduate students at the time, so we had access to a lawyer at the University. He couldn't represent us, but he told us what to do and what to write. Luckily for us, his first job out of law school was representing the airlines.

Great story , I'd love to know what that judge showed the lawyer as I may need to sue delta over an international flight cancelstion and denied boarding without compensation issue

The download is free, but the book is now regular price...
