please post REWARD or REBATE. I can't open link via phone.

dazviking said:   please post REWARD or REBATE. I can't open link via phone. Its a rebate (you need to use the coupon for the rebate receipt to print out at the kiosk).

Great, thanks!

Coupon says "Free after easy rebate" but not able to find rebate in stapleseasyrebate website.
could you pls share the rebate promo number?
if rebate prints with receipt, we have to do by post? (Which mean no longer easy rebate)

Staples had these kind of deals previously (I remember, at one time last year, it was for a ream of paper), where you would scan the coupon and a special rebate would print out. If you fail to give the coupon, it will not print out the rebate. It's still an Easy Rebate, not a MIR.

I will try it tonight and post the rebate number when I get the receipt. Alternately, if someone gets the number before I do, can you please post the same. TIA.

you won't find this on the Staples site. it's a special rebate which is generated by the cashier scanning that coupon/coupon code. no different than the rebates we've seen in the past for ream paper which required the special SKU added to the receipt to generate the rebate form and YES, it IS AN EASY REBATE.

Please go look for more of the great deals you usually post and stop nit-picking what everyone says. I posted the coupon text details so everone could easily see what the offer was. That text included the statement "For details, see StaplesEasyRebates.com," however, there is nothing there to see. Which seemed worth pointing out. I didn't impugn the deal's legitimacy. As for why it was put there, actually it was likely put there because somebody cut and pasted coupon boilerplate from some previous coupon. When someone intentionally says "for details, see...," it is reasonable for the reader to expect that details would exist there. They don't... which is all I was pointing out.

Labboy, you took my post personally and it wasn't meant that way. I was being upfront and not nitpicking when I said the rebate offer likely won't be up at staplesrebates.com even though it's in the coupon fine print. As mentioned earlier, these "hidden" rebates aren't listed for the public usually due to that special sku that's required on the receipt to generate the form. otherwise, if it were listed, they'd likely have to honor the rebate for anyone who bought the photo paper with or without the SKU.

While you may understand this, we get lots of newbies who don't... reading these threads, who then think the rebate isn't valid cause they can't find it there.

darn, the coupon link is giving an error...sigh.

VivYip said:   darn, the coupon link is giving an error...sigh.

worked fine for me just now viv. clear your Cache and try it again.

i just went with a different browser to get the coupon again

when i used the same browser, I get "An internal server error occurred. Please try again later."

Everyone who gets Staples emails should have gotten one titled "Our exclusive 15% off Back to School savings pass is here!" Within the email there should be a pic that says "31 great coupons for you." with a button you click to take you to a page of coupons. This photo paper coupon should be the first one. Click on "print coupon" which should take you to a similar page the OP linked, but with your email info and other stuff imbedded. Hopefully that helps you VivYip.

Can I use my Staples rewards to do 2 separate buys and have my mom receive one easy rebate and another for myself or will using the rewards trigger some register alarms sending me running from the store chased by a pack of dogs?
We both received the email coupon. Code is the same.

I'm not so sure about that.....

this is an "up to" $9.99 rebate. if coupon use (rewards applied as coupons) affects your net price paid you may be in for a rude awakening. just be careful, not sure how the "up to" wording will play out with rewards check use. it will CERTAINLY get reduced if you use the 15% school savings pass.

You mean we can't use reward check?

watssion said:   You mean we can't use reward check?

You totally can. I got the rebate receipt to print out and already submitted online.

People seem to be making a distinction between a rebate and an "Easy Rebate." What is an "Easy Rebate?"

Thanks. Nice

Ivanist said:   watssion said:   You mean we can't use reward check? You totally can. I got the rebate receipt to print out and already submitted online. And what is the rebate amount listed on your submission?

I used an $8.00 reward check. My submission online shows $9.99 amount. An easy rebate means it can be submited online vs. a mail in rebate that must be physically mailed in.

At stapleseasyrebates.com, this is the FIRST link on the page--

Also, you may want to review the Staples Rewards FAQ here-- http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/deal-discussion/1157891/ , for other common questions about dealing with Staples.

FYI, a rebate form printing out means nothing. it's the amount they actually approve for the rebate.

I hope everyone gets their $9.99 rebate, but anytime the UP TO wording is involved (and we saw this last summer too w/the school savings pass), you are at the mercy of the rebate center.

if they decide to send you $0 cause you paid $0 after rewards (coupon), you wouldn't have any recourse due to that "up to" wording.

Just a heads up to be careful while these back to school rebates are spitting out.

Last year, I don't recall there being an issue with Rewards and Rebates, just the "Back to School (BTS) Savings Pass" and Rebates.

I did use a $9.00 Reward on my purchase this morning, and submitted. This is what I see for current offer:
Validation in progress. *PayPal for $9.99

Looking back at last year, when I had BTS, the number is reduced, and I believed it was at the time of submission (but that was a year ago).

FYI Savings Pass Terms (condensed):

Valid 6/10/12-9/15/12 in Staples US Stores only. Not valid on tech, ink/toner, calculators (was last year), case paper, flash drives, food, mobile phones/plans....
Savings Pass discounts before-rebate price for ream and photo paper and not final price after rebate.

daz,

I'm optimistic rewards will work. But since this is the first "test" of the up to wording in this years BTS rebates I did want to caution folks to be careful. I can't recall last year if rewards messed up the rebates when an item had the up to wording. I do know the BTS savings DID lower the rebate you earned which is why there was a great deal of debate on FW if it really paid to spend the $10 for it if you were primarily using it for the far items and not general school supplies.

C, I think it was during this time that Competitor coupons (e.g $10 off $50 Office Depot) also seemed to do something funky to rebates. There never seemed to be a real understanding why it affected some and not others, although it was speculated as to which item the coupon was applied toward.

right, if the competitor coupon got applied as a price match to a far item that had the "up to" wording, then in all liklihood, the rebate amount was lowered by the price match.

to be honest, it's a royal PITA with this BTS savings pass...cause you don't know until you submit/get verification exactly how much you are getting back and if your rebate was altered by either PM and/or rewards use.

Are you talking about this deal or multiple deals? If you are talking about this deal, you can’t use it for multiple items. Didn’t you see the statement “Limit one per household”?
