Be vigilant about WELL DOCUMENTED bait-and-switches when you try to redeem. MANY have reported "oil filter is extra" or "doesn't apply to 'specialty' oil (when 'specialty' is just 5w40, etc.)," and other gimmicks. If this happens to you, please let your state Attorney General/Consumer Protection Agency/BBB/whatever know... so they can try to stop this well-established behavior.

Oil change $17.99 not $12.99 stated in the title

AC = after coupon. Did you use a coupon? It's clearly stated in the OP:

"Came in ValPak yesterday"

Dude, if you read the post, Sears gives you an immediate $5 coupon while you are
waiting on your oil change. Valid in store at that time.

I also had a problem reading this in the title: $12.99 Oil Change thru 7/31/12 AC $5 (instant coupon) as meaning the $12.99 oil change is only $5 after coupon. I guess if you make it A $5 C, or AC ($5), or after $5 coupon, it might be clearer. But, whatever. Still pretty cheap if they do it right. How much does a filter cost?

Don't bother using this! Just went yesterday, they ended up charging me $32 and told me the $5 instant coupon was only good for in-store purchase and it's good only for an over $25 additional purchase. I contested the $32 charge and told them (rather loudly) that they are misleading their customers. He told me there was an additonal $3 charge for shop fees, there was an additonal $7 charge for filter, and additonal $5.50 for 2 addtional quarts of oil. My suggestion is, if you're going to use the coupon, don't turn it in or tell them you have one until they are finished with the job and tell you the final price. That way they can't raise the prices knowing that you have a coupon. I just called to get an estimate on what it would've cost me to bring in my van without a coupon and they told me $32.08. If I used a $12 off coupon (which is what they so called $17.99 coupon really is), it should've run me a total of $20.08! That is not what I had to pay! I paid $27.48 and that is after I complained enough for them to take off an additonal $3! Oh boy, aren't they nice! I am ticked!
