Those that compare this to tablet has no clue.
You can manage, just be prepared to set aside an entire day. For me the money isn't worth it in time.
This is an uncharted install, you'll need to look up vendor IDs and source each driver on your own. There's no support/driver download site to go to.

This is my first posting after years of reading. I registered at DailySteals to get this and somehow ended up with two in my basket. I did not see a final amount much less an amount to confirm. Searching the FAQs did not reveal a way to cancel the order or change it. I could not find a number to call, although I did send an email asking for only one. Am I going to have a problem and who can I call because I surely do not need two?

Right, because a tablet works. I have a Clarion Mind which has a very similar architecture. It runs XP too....or more precisely, it very slowly strolls XP. It is so limited by its processor and memory that simple tasks like opening a web page take forever. Like the BenQ, you are lucky to get 1 hour off the battery...with the result that you are always tethered to a power cord.
If you want a hobby...a gadget to mess with then for $60 this is a cheap toy. I paid more than that for the Clarion...and had a couple of fun weeks messing with it before I realized it was pretty useless at actually doing anything. I question whether you will ever perform efficient computer=like functions with it.

This is the email the folks from daily steals sent:
"Thanks for contacting us.
Unfortunately when this product first went up, it did so with incorrect information that listed it as having Windows XP. We have since fixed the listing to display the correct information, and apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this may have resulted in.
Because of this error, we are accepting cancellations for any buyers interested in doing so. They just need to e-mail us with their order numbers and we will cancel their shipments with a full refund applied.
I apologize again for the situation, and we are certainly willing to resolve it for any customer who wish to do so."
Just send an email with your order number and tell them you want to cancel it.There is no phone number to call

You probably didn't score a HP touchpad, and don't know about the dual boot stuff. The ICS 4.0 makes it perfect for $99.

I went ahead and bought this(maybe foolishly) for opening e-mail and the occasional website while at university; beats lugging my 17 inch laptop around and hopefully it will be better than my Evo Shift(probably not). Anyone recommend a good MicroSD card I'm looking at the 16gb Class 10 Patriot at Amazon for $14

Here is a link to the SetFSB settings for this particular processor; looks like 1.1ghz is no problem. Almost a 40% overclock; probably makes a big difference in usability on this thing.

According to users on another forum, you will need to flash the BIOS with an update no longer on BenQ's site, which then enables you to install XP.
From there, you get to spend eleventy billion hours hunting down all the drivers. And any apps BenQ commissioned to make the UI work properly will be absent.
Oh, and Daily Steals won't cancel my order. The form I got in my inbox to cancel leads to a page that just gives a progress bar that goes nowhere.
can this run Windows 8 preview? I think the Win 8 hardware requirements are somewhat similar to XP

I definitely second this. I couldn't get the $99 touchpad but got the 32gb one for $125 and I have not even seen the need to hack it with android. It's a great device as is. It's very responsive and to me it bundles up as: a digital photo frame, nifty email reader, occasional kindle reader (normally i use my old 6" kindle), music player, angry birds (now I'm over it)
The only think I say that I miss in touchpad is the ability to play Netflix, not sure if you can get Netflix if you put android on it.
