You have to hook it to an HD source... Lol VHS will look bad.

Thanks for all the opinions...I stand undecided!

When you look at the Insignia side by side (same HD source, in a store) to a better brand like Toshiba, you can see a different in picture quality. The better brand has more contrast, more vivid colors, etc. That doesn't mean the Insignia has a bad picture-- just not quite as good, but it is way cheaper. $199 for a 32" is low.

How long it will last could be another question...

House brands do not rock.

hey polish,

enough man! how many posts are you going to add saying the same thing? People have to make their own informed decisions here. If someone feels the house brand isn't right for them based on your input, super. If not, super too. There are many people who DON'T GET HD packages who think this TV looks great. It really just depends what your personal needs and habits dictate. CHILL!

Agreed, everyone can go buy what they want.

I bought a Toshiba & the picture is amazing. Thing is, the sound sucks, but that's okay since I'm Deaf.

thanks

Stop replying to him. He goes into every TV thread to say it sucks because he wants people to rate his thread higher. I think he believes that posters get paid for ratings or view counts.

The rest of us know that Insignia TVs are re-badged Samsungs, LGs, etc...
LOL. I'm surprised E4300 hasn't found his way to this thread to rave about the LG plasma and the "4-5% difference in picture quality". It's funny how some people get so fanboi-ish about particular TVs or TV deals. Spreading information, opinions and user-experience is useful to a point but people need to realize different people want to different things and the cost-benefit analysis is ultimately something each person has to make on their own based on their own needs/interests. I went with the Panasonic TV that Polish posted (and I'm very happy) but this is also a fantastic deal (as is the LG4500 E4300 keeps advocating). What I did was I went to enthusiast forums (like AVS forums), jotted down the recommended picture settings (contrast/brightness/sharpness/etc) for each of the TV I was interested in, went to the store, and turned each TV to those settings. Based on what I liked and the price, I picked the TV deal I wanted.

For anyone shopping around, take all of these suggestions/opinions with a grain of salt. I recommend going to the store, ask for a remote, and play around with the TVs you're considering. Decide for yourself which one YOU like the best. Good luck!

Unless you checked/fixed the settings on each TV, that tells you very little. It's in BB's interest to have the TVs they make the most money on look the best!

Ok, then the point of all of your posts is what exactly?

We did.

do yourself a favor
NEVER BUY A WARRANTY FROM THE STORE

I always use
square trade, if they can not fix it they refund your purchase price.
almost always 1/3 the price of big box store warranty
Squaretrade

If I could get everyone's attention, please. We're trying to create an atmosphere of joy, peace, and prosperity in the middle of the wild, wild, internet west. So, if you would, avoid verbal gunslinging. Otherwise, I have to go through the trouble of shooting down posts. And I'm way too lazy to want to do that. Thanks.
