*Can't* be junk! Why, I had a katana in nethack, and it was an awesome weapon!

what is the original price?

Crappy bike for a semi-cheap price... Yes I know it's Fatwallet, but spend a bit more at your LBS for either a used or last years model bike and have it fit for you. The ride will be MUCH better.

"A bit more" at an LBS?? I think your concept of how much a "bit" entails will be something like 50-100% at a bare minimum, maybe a lot more than that. I just did a search on eBay for "54cm road bike" and found a few vaguely comparable (i.e. multi-gear, not fixed gear) bikes to this Schwinn for around $275, but the first genuinely better one was $300 with auction not ending for a while (so winning auction bid will certainly be much higher) and $475 for a buy-it-now price. From a very limited look last year at the used road collection of the largest local bike shop, I think the cheapest I saw was around $400. The cheapest new road bike I've seen lately has been around $600 so even if you get last year's model on clearance, you're still probably looking at around $450 or more.

This steel bike at nashbar is probably a better bike and can probably be had for around $340 shipped if you happen upon a 20% off coupon, maybe less if you can combine it with a reduced or free shipping special:

Nashbar steel road bike $349

Buying a bike in the wrong size is like buying the wrong size shoes. Bad idea.

This deal has come and gone. I just wanted to leave a note here for future. This is a decent bike if you are looking into casual biking. I have one, and it is serving me well, until I figure out if I want to spend 10x more on a really good bike. I wish I'd seen this deal when it came up, I'd have told this then. Yes, there are things that you can pick on, but if you have just $200 or so to spend on a new road bike, this one will definitely do the job. And remember, any bike is better than the couch.
