All the targets near my house ( Canton,ga ad Alpharetta,GA ) have their remaining supply of kindles marked at 30% off . I was wondering when they would start clearing them out since they are no longer carrying them.
hmm... whats the off chance they have a fire? green for you op.

Its probably now or never to mark them down. With the new Fires coming at the end of July/ early August, they might be a hard sell esp. if Amazon drops the price on the original Fire. I'm Sure Target still wants to get the most bang for their buck while they can, hence why they maybe held off as long as they did.

Two days ago I had to purchase a Kindle. Yesterday I was at Target and saw the display of the Kindles. Regular and Fire where at retail price. Then I remember not long ago when Target was supposedly getting rid of all of them due to the exclusivity contract with Apple. So I was surprised to see them.
Or maybe this is regional or on a store per store basis? They were supposed to start having a sort of mini Apple Store.

I bought a kindle (the $79.99 priced model) at target July 4, 2012 which was just a few days ago. No 30% off for me that day. This was in a Rochester area Target. I bought what looked like the last one of that model. They had a lot of the kindle fires in stock marked at the regular price of $199.99. Perhaps I missed this mark down by a few days, or this Target held off a little. Thanks for posting this. I'll keep my eyes open.

Do they sell the lighted cover for the Kindle there? I'm wondering if the Kindle accessories would be marked down too.

Any way to find out who has any aside from calling and alerting store personnel? The old online inventory checker link doesn't work anymore.

Stock on kindle accessories has always been spotty at Target stores near me, but I have seen the lighted covers there. It would make sense to mark down the accessories if they will no longer be carrying the kindle, but I'm not sure you can count on Target mark downs to make sense.

The Target closest to me only had one in stock and it's $79.00. The Fire is still the regular price.

At one of my local targets the electronics person very snarkily reminded me that "every target prices things individually".

I was at Target yesterday there were no Kindle's or Kindle marketing in the e-reader section. Just some Nooks and clearance Kobo's.

Only 1 Kindle, the LARGE E-reader only at my store. Was only 30% off -down to $232. Employee said clearing out as they are now carrying the Nook. I did find a Nook leather cover at 75% off ($39 down to $9) and bought for my Kindle Fire. Fits perfect. Not sure why it was on clearance as they just started carrying the Nook and the Kindle covers were still regular price.

As far as I know, they've always carried the Nook. I believe they are clearing out the Kindle because Target has made a deal with Apple. Many Targets will now get mini Apple stores in them.
I realize this is a dead topic, but I'm hoping someone can help me out. If anyone who purchased a kindle from Target has a reciept which states a special return time for the kindle could you PM me?
