It has an ESN / MEID and not an IMEI. This is primarily a CDMA phone, but in the last few years Verizon has started promoting phones that can operate using CDMA and GSM, mainly for travelling abroad.
I suspect it's a typo on Sear's part. It even says CDMA at the top of the screen.
I saw about 50 of these sitting at my local goodwill the other day for $5, considered picking them up to resell the credit. Must be a terribly unpopular phone!

It seems no camera in it. There is full basic functions, so it is available.

Correct. VZW-branded prepaid devices cannot be activated on Page Plus.

I think they can after 6 months...
but I remember something about if you never activate it on verizon, that pageplus will take it immediately...not sure, so that should be checked.

This is very incorrect (from the top of the Sears page)
There is no coverage for this phone in {97526} or the ZIP Code is not valid. Check another ZIP Code?

I think they come with a $10 card you can use immediately to get started...
I am guessing you can sell those cards.

There is no card, the $10 credit is on the phone when you activate it and for that phone only.

About 2 years ago, Verizon killed using these on a regular contract account. In fact back then it was done by you from a link on their website.... Now they know the ones that are sold as prepaid and can only be used as such until you have it with service for 6 months. Then to a contract account is doable.

Can this phone be used on a regular (non-prepaid) VerizonWireless account? Wondering if I should pick up a couple as back-ups for lost/broken phones.

These are old phones... they were released in 2009...
I wonder if they could be used on a regular contract? I doubt verizon has gone back and entered every old device ever manufactured as pre-paid...

I got the tip a few years ago from a WM employee about the easy replacement using a prepaid for a contract account..... At the time 2 models were available on WM dot com, needless to say, I took full advantage of all, and it was good while it lasted...
While they are still taking online orders from me for cell phones they also sent an eMail saying (in a nice way)
We have stock for anticipated buyers.. It is not our intention to nor do we sell in reseller quantity's ....and bunch more stuff...

I understand, but that process started at a certain point... from that point on all meid numbers for pre-paid were blocked... but its possible that these were manufactured before they started tracking the meid's that were pre-paid.

Is the credit attached to the phone's meid?
Can it be moved to another pre-paid phone?
ie: If you buy two of these, and activate only one, can you then add the $10 from the second one to the active one and get $20 on the first phone?

How's that?
Edit- It doesn't work in either of my zip codes in north east or Fl. I don't use cell phones. But could stand to get a new 911 phone. Was going to leave it empty & use it for that. Or just put enough to activate it & then let it go to 911 only. They can't shut that off.

I think that zip code thing is an error on Sears part... its a verizon phone, so it should have good coverage.
I think for a 911 phone it would be fine.

If you want to keep them for any other calls, they are not that great, since the minutes run out in 30 days.

I got one for that reason. You can call & cancel if you figure you don't want it later. I called to see if I could get it sent to the closer store. Easy enough to cancel. Girl couldn't believe the price. I'm not sure supply will be there long.
