Have never heard of a LED tv having only 1000:1 contrast ratio, is this true? Anyone has experience with this model?

This is a bit odd but I think you can give it a try as the market is set for such contrast and the resolution is quite extraordinary.

My proscan had outstanding facial tones; something you don't see in all low end tv's. And the remote was easy to use. I got rid of it after two years just to get a new haier with warranty. The haier is ok, but the proscan was better overall.

Proscan was the elite of RCA brand. Anything that was manufacture before 2011 has excellent quality that compete with the upper echelon products. It was sold to a cheap manufacturer Curtis last year so anything after that is very doubtful so watch out. Would have jump in last year but not this year, dont know about quality yet but as Curtis has consistently shows-anything that it manufactures actually end up crappy.
