Just about to say the same thing. I was interested until I read that they crack and splinter.

Used these for two years including carrying them in my backpack while biking to work. Never leaked, never cracked and certainly did not explode. On the flip side, they are a bit heavy as they are made of glass and u need to clean the rubber gasket of the lids by removing them. Costco had them for $30 when i bought them.

thanks I jumped on this. I have a few individual pieces for years and they are great. I just use them to store food and reheat in microwave. I dont bake in them or put them on hot stove which seems to be the case with the ones that exploded. they are heavy but very sturdy and it obviously much more durable than plastic ones. hope none of mine explode.

I bought a set of Costco and ended up throwing them out. They are very difficult to get the lids to snap on and because of the odd shapes they take up a lot of space in the cabinets. They are very high quality, but I'll stick with my Pyrex bowls which stack much easier and I can get the lids on and off with little effort.
