It's just too small for me though.

Popped it in my cart and the coupon rings up for $15, only bringing it down to $128. I must be missing something. (Am a subscriber to Newegg e-mail deals.)

Not sure how the forum works, but when I post the same deal earlier, this thread certainly wasn't on the hot deal list. Nor it came up in either title search or full forum search (I think it still doesn't if you try a search).

Is there some kind of time delayed hidden deal posting function?

I have this drive as my boot drive on my desktop, wonder if I should get another one and setup in a RAID config? All my data files (my docs/pics) are set to save to a mechanical drive, so the raid would just be for OS and program backup or to add size if I stripe it.

Assuming you're a retail user, you'll never notice a difference. That being said, Samsung is typically considered to be more reliable, and for that reason you often see Samsung drives used as OEM drives for enterprise users (they have contracts with Dell, Apple, etc for OEM drives).

The top three SSD manufacturers are usually given as Intel, Samsung, and Crucial, in that order. But, like I said, nowadays you'll never notice a difference unless you're doing stress tests.

More importantly - this one is on sale, the M4 is not

Thanks, maybe use SSD in the title next time. I doubt anyone would bother to spell out the full term or try to find a hard drive by Samsung.

Type "Samsung 830" in the search bar, then sort by posted date. It's there. Also, it's good to check the product category it's posted under before you post (SSD). Hope that helps...
