Nasty bug, took hours to get rid of it for a friend. You may need Kaspersky's TDSS Killer.

Does it include free updates? Otherwise this would be just a trial version..

It did the last time they offered it. I'm still using it and it keeps telling me there is an updated version to download.

I use a version about 3 years old - works GREAT with no updates

What are everyone's thoughts on the Themida rootkit that gets installed with GOTD software now? From searches on the net, some call it a virus or a trojan backdoor, while GOTD says that it just part of their installer and has no side effects.

Does the trick of getting the installer from Temp folder still works?
This way we can install any time.
I have to try this out when i go back home.

Are there any advantages of DVDFab over the always free VLC Player?

thanks, from that page, some info that may be helpful:
* They have a free version that plays files from your hard drive.
* The main selling points are
(a) claims to play all formats (VLC very good in that area)
(b) breaks protection on the fly - i.e. if you put in a movie disk that you don't have license to play , or have other HTPC software which requires this in order to play back your movies
* auto d/l of media content info - I haven't used it yet, so I can't comment on how nicely the GUI is laid out.

In short (again, I haven't used the s/w so I'm only going on the info page), it seems it's target customer is one who has movie disks where protection is an issue.

Didn't work for me either.

Yep...not working!

I am looking for a BluRay plug in for Windows Media Center. Does this integrate with Windows Media Center?

not working

To my knowledge it does not integrate with WMC, its based off and integrates with XBMC.

Also, it's not easy (as in the past) to hold onto the installer or grab stuff from temp. When they switched wrappers recently it blocked alot of the easier access functionality.
(There are ways around it...just more painful)

I don't blame you for being a bit upset. But is it really worth being upset about? After all you did not spend a dime, so I can not imaging how upset you might be if you did spend money. FCOL, you don't got to swears.

No

As I suspected.

No

Well, VLC uses its own codecs while other media players use the Windows ones. So I think it's good to have one of each type of player (assuming you don't like Windows Media Player). But since the DVDFab player is based on XBMC, why not just install XBMC?

anyone get code to worK?

it did not worked for me also

Looks like there's some sort of limit maybe?

It just does not work. Does it occur to anyone that it may be some nasty hacking program? At least I found it suspicious. I uninstalled the program. But there is this Dir named dvdfab stream ... that I just can't delete. I end up having to reinstall my system for security purpose. No I learned my lesson and I will never go to this site again. For those computer pros, can you please find out where this site is located?

This website auto downloaded Funmoods with another program that was free, so watch out. Google funmoods, not fun.

Response from the website about validation failure:

Dear users,

we are aware of the situation with registration problems and have already contacted the developers. As soon as we get a reply from them, we will let you know.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Best regards,
GOTD project team

From GAOTD:

Dear GOTDers,

though registration issue was solved by Fengtao team several hours ago, the solution was not on time for some users due to the difference in time zones.

The only right decision here is to organise the rerun for DVDFab Media Player and this is what we are currently involved in. Please keep an eye on GOTD Blog and Forum not to miss the announcement about this repeat.

We (GOTD and Fengtao teams) are deeply sorry for the inconvenience and grateful for your understanding.

Stay in touch and enjoy the weekend!
GOTD team
