Shipping alone might make this worth its price... I don't see it as 50% off though as posted original price is $299.

Wonder how loud this sucker is?

Whaaaat? Speak up!

"Operational volume (dB) 72"

Not to be cranky (ok, I love being cranky) but I got the decibel rating in two mouse clicks. Original link to HD site, then the Specifications tab.

Whah??? Item is not for sale in the state of California? That's just unconstitutional!

Welcome to California! the land of Moonbeam, sheeples and CARB.

Emission might not be up to par with the draconian CARB.

Lol! Should be pretty loud..

The maximum draw of 8 amps makes this not suitable for refrigerators. My french door Samsung fridge draws over 11 amps so I couldn't use this to power it if there is a hurricane, etc. Be aware of this.

That's for the 12V outlet, not the 120V:

Output Receptacles 2 X 120V AC and 1 X 12V 8A DC

Please go thru the specifications this is 25 Amp generator but not 8 Amp???

So, from what I can read now it seems to be 25 amps. That's good then!

Yes..take time to read the specs and reviews before suggesting advice. At this price point, for the basic's....it's a good choice.

Got one. Thanks. If you have the Lowes or HD 10% off coupon click the online chat agent with HD and they will apply the 10% off to your purchase once you get the order number. Saved another $20 so got it delivered for $180 plus tax. Not too shabby. Thanks for the deal!

Or through shopdiscover with a discover card.

I bet it pollutes too much for us.

I tried, but was referred to call customer service who told me they would NOT be able to apply the coupon as it was considered double-discounting.

Got one this time, I missed the one day sale last month.

I pulled the trigger also. Thanks Op

Got it anyway! Thanks, OP!

Good find, in for one. I've been wanting a generator for a while, and this is a great deal.

no extended warranty available? this is the type of item you'd buy and not use till you need it - possibly months down the road. It would be a shame to find that the cheap price was equaling the same in quality.

Got this one last month when on sale. Had need to use it four hours after delivery when our power went out for 8 hours. Generator worked like a charm, was easy to set up, not too loud, and fairly light. Only downside: no wheels so not easy to move around. A good buy.

Can this be wired up to the whole house? Is it easy to DIY or do I have to hire a electrician?

argentum said:   Can this be wired up to the whole house? Is it easy to DIY or do I have to hire a electrician?

No........it is only 110 and will not supply the 220 a normal house generator would require.

Yes, a generator should be only be installed by an electrician if planning on using for backing up of the whole house. There is a lot involved and it can be dangerous to you and others if not done correctly.

This generator is fine using extension cords and running your refrigerator, your freezer, lights, ext. Be careful running a high end TV with it.

Many, if not most of major credit cards will double manufacturers warranty. Check with your credit card company

Used to live in CA and I can say I don't miss big brother telling what I can buy and if I can buy it that it will be three times more than the rest of the States pay because they make the manufacturer make the thing run like crap to meet air/noise/waste standards.
