I really do not see why a student should get $100 extra off. The ads I think now say show your student id and get a $100 rebate... I wonder if the cashier really has to see something or just key in they saw it... The cashiers I know could care less, i will ask.
Can be high school or college id. I ordered online ...need copy of students id/form filled out. I'm sending class schedule and Dr. Lic learner's permit. In person, I don't think they input info, but just ok the transaction for "easy rebate". Then you take receipt and file it online. You could always grab a neighbor kid or find a starving college student and buy him lunch!!

one is for online purchases and one is for in store purchases so no, you will only get $100.

From those retailers the models they sell do not end in US. HP rebate s for US in the model number.

My deal was Saturday 8/11(different sale cycle)... the store Instant Savings was 101... Sunday's sale cycle is now instant savings 50. The Toshiba is 50 more this week too. Note: All 4 models in student rebate have NOT calculated the 100 student rebate. The 50 HP rebate is calculated in their "after rebate" price. Maybe there system can only factor in 1 rebate automatically. Must look at each one and do the math yourself.
The student rebate runs till 9/15...so it is my ssumption that the in store "instant savings" amounts will change up and down each week with the SALE CYCLE until promotion ends on these 4 models.
REVIEW: 1st rebate=Windows 8....... 2nd rebate=50 HP(calculated in).... 3rd rebate=100 Student rebate( not calculated) If not a student ...borrow one from a neighbor!!!!

I picked up the Lenovo with a student ID. I still have to mail in the form to get the $100 gift card. Did anyone get the gift card at the store.
Rebate can be mailed in..... Spoke w/Staples customer Serv... there is rebate form for mail in... copy of ID(Driv. Lic) of student or college school student ID.
Mine is in high school...so Dr Lic(age) and school class schedule printout will do. Find a family kid or neighbor kid and purchase as "gift". Fill out rebate accordingly. Both rebates(store & online) at website.
