LivingSocial Takeout & Delivery - similar to GrubHub and Seamless - currently has a $1 for $10 promotion; that is, you pay $1 for a voucher that enables you to get up to $10 worth of food (the vouchers do not have a minimum purchase limit).
After purchasing, locate a restaurant of your liking at the LivingSocial Takeout & Delivery site, then simply check out. You will have a chance to click a "use this voucher" button.
Please note that the entire value of each voucher must be used in a single order, and that sales tax is mandatory and the voucher will not cover it.
Sale of the vouchers end in two days, but the vouchers can be used through September 24, 2012.
Additional information (not required to know, but may be helpful): •Although it may say Washington D.C., this actually works nationwide, as long as there are participating restaurants in your area (I posted a general list in the Wiki below). Please check to see if there are restaurants in your area by going to https://livingsocial.com/menus - and make sure you are interested in them - before purchasing. When I posted this last time, I had enough people yelling at me when they found out that the only available restaurants are "stupid" and "undelicious;" I no longer want to be the target of your yelling... haha.
• LivingSocial limits this to one purchase per account. However, I know many members here have dozens - or hundreds - of e-mail accounts. Use a virtual credit card and you can get unlimited amounts of these. The name, address, and zip code you provide do not need to match the credit card name (just remember which name you used when you pick up the food!).
•Sale of the vouchers end in two days, but the vouchers can be used through September 24, 2012. This means you can buy 30 vouchers and use one every single day to eat delicious food for a low cost over the next month!
•This deal can help out your local eateries, as LivingSocial reimburses them the full amount, minus a 10% charge (there is no transaction fee for the restaurants).
•I do not recommend self-referrals for this deal. LivingSocial seems to keep track of these and may try to ban you.
•I posted a similar deal on July 21, 2012, and 10,776 vouchers were purchased. Many people messaged me to comment that it was one of the hottest deals in which they were able to participate.
Restaurants available in the following cities: -Atlanta -Austin -Baltimore -Bellevue -Berkeley -Boston -Boulder County -Charlotte -Chicago -Chicago-North Suburbs -Dallas -Denver -East Valley, AZ -Fort Lauderdale -Houston -Los Angeles -Miami -Minneapolis -Montgomery County -Northern Virginia -Oakland -Philadelphia -Phoenix -San Diego -San Diego - North County -San Francisco -San Jose -Santa Clara -Scottsdale -Seattle -SF Peninsula -St. Louis -St. Paul -Washington, D.C.

be careful: I bought one of these last time, and there is not a single restaurant within 10 miles from where I live or work - and I'm not really willing to drive 30 min just tp save $9 on food from a place I never tried before.

I did this in the past and don't understand why LS thinks they'll get people using the takeout at regular price... I just use the $1 for a $10 lunch and then frequent the business without involving LS in the process. But hey, in for 1....

Excellent thank you OP. Gonna be stuck in San Diego next week without a car. This will work perfectly.

I have a lot of friends who actually order off Delivery.com, Seamless.com, and GrubHub.com at regular prices. I guess it's sometimes more convenient to order online right before your lunch hour at work, and then just walk over to pick it up.

Dang it, I never used mine from last time. Did not realized they expired so soon. I guess I'll double down this time to make up for it.

Note that these expire in exactly a month, on September 24, 2012. I will try to post back at around that time to remind you and others. In the meantime, enjoy your inexpensive food!

Clearly a great deal ---- but do you work for Living Social Vic?

For the record, I do not make anything off this financially. I just enjoy posting deals and helping others out (feel free to check my post history). I have never posted any referral links and never plan to.
