Sears has their Craftsman 6lb Woodchoppers Maul on sale for $14.99 (from $29.99) Link

Last time I saw it for this price was July 2011, but apparently it was $14.99 until August 30, 2011.

I have this same maul and for $15, it's a great deal. It's not made in the US, I think mine is made in Mexico, but I'm not 100% sure. It has a fiberglass handle and it holds a decent edge. And since it comes with the lifetime Craftsman warranty, you can take it back every time you destroy the handle from overstrikes/misses.

These are awesome, I highly prefer them over sledges and wedges for splittin' wood.

My confirmation email mentions $10 off a future $50 purchase in tools. It didn't have a link or a code, but I bought mine as a "guest". My point is- create an account before or during your checkout & maybe you'll get a nifty code.

I got this as well after buying the $5 rake. But it seems like this coupon may not apply to garden tools, oddly enough. I tried adding a couple of gardening tool items to get over $50 and the coupon didn't work and said the items didn't qualify. I added a couple ratcheting sets though and those seemed to go through.

I wonder if they'll accept the coupon if you use it in-store for gardening tools though.

Are they better than the Chopper 1?

Thanks OP....Wondering if this would be a decent product for beating up some Stump$ from a few trees that were cut down.

For Stump$, you'll need a maul (this one works) or a sledge and several splitting wedges. Watch this guy, he knows what he's doing Link

1 left in Dubois (15801) if you are going to the Penn State game Saturday.

And it is pronounced 'do boys'.

Personally I would go with a hatchet or something lighter like this one. This thing weighs too much to be swinging it one after another.

Please quit trolling. Of course this is useful against Zombies. It's a maul!
