This isn't a real good deal as I'll explain. Eddie Bauer makes great stuff but I have a serious gripe with what they are pulling with this "30%" promo on 10-13-12 for Eddie Bauer's B-Day. The issue is that i've watched many of the clearance items for quite some time and if you are quick you can snatch up some insane deals on stuff up to 70% off. Long story short, I saved a number of links onto my favorites much of whih were clearance items, some of which were sale items. The clearance items remained the same low clearance price (as they usually do while they're in stock) so I purchased some shirts and shorts that I needed and that I figured wouldn't be around until this 10-13-12 annual Eddie Bauer B-DAY promotion. Anyway, ALL of the remaining items that were in clearance that I was waiting to take the additional 30% off of are now completely jacked up to nearly DOUBLE what they were...lol. I can give about a dozen examples, but all of the clearanced double pocket solid or plaid shirts are jacked up as are all the polos and every other shirt that was on clearance and/or sale. The Sale prices I can undestand...if they want to remove the Fall Sale promotion prior to the 30%, that makes sense, but to take your entire selection of items that were on Clearance for WEEKS and then put them back to nearly regular price to compensate for the 30% promotion...that's just dirty. Whoever pulled that stunt in marketing for Eddie Bauer should be dealt with. A clearance item listed as a clearance item is just that...CLEARANCE....i've never seen any "Reputable" company take a Clearance item and put it back to at or near regular price to adjust for a known bigger % promo coming out.
With this being said, ALL (not some, but ALL) of the items that were clearanced AND those on sale will be MORE MONEY even with the 30% discount, then they were during this most recent Fall Sale and two day free shipping Haystack promotion. Bottom line, unless you want FULL PRICED items or unless you want to pay more for this "BIG PROMOTION" then you would of just days ago...then I'd stay far away. I will say Eddie Bauer's customer service is the absolute BEST i've EVER dealt with and again, the quality of the merchandise is impeccable...but this is definitely a shady way of doing business..and that's too bad.

That's actually really good to know about the clearance prices. Thanks for going through the trouble of tracking it for us all I was in the store a couple weeks ago and saw a couple of shirts that I wanted, but at full price that wasn't going to happen. I searched around and couldn't find a coupon valid for the store so I've been on the lookout. I'll go in tomorrow and see if they happened to jack up the full price items, but if not it would be a good deal on those specific things. I imagine that based on your comment, it may be a better deal instore vs. online, especially on clearance! And, I won't think of EB's clearance dept the same again. Agree with you on the customer service, it's top-notch.

@javafixed, ...yeah it's definitely crappy to see Eddie Bauer of all places pull this. As an example i'll post some links below:
This shirt was $24.99 for WEEKS, and today they jacked it up to a whopping $54.99! Even with 30% that's still $38 and significantly more then it was the last few weeks. Shirt 1
These shoes were $79 on clearance for WEEKS...now they are back to full regular price at $110 Shoes
This pullover was $24.99 for weeks in both regular AND TALL on clearance...now they've jacked up the regular size $10, and the tall size $15 With the 30% this is still more expensive then it was for weeks prior to this sale. pullover
This sweatshirt was $29.99 for weeks. They've jacked it up to full regular price $10-$15 for regular/tall as well. Sweatshirt
These fleece shorts were on Clearance for weeks at $19.99....now they are up to regular price at $29.99. In this case, the 30% brings the price off the regular price to ~$21. Not a big difference, but you'd still pay a dollar more with this 30% then you would of the last few weeks. Fleece Shorts
There are many more examples...most of their polo shirts they've done the same thing with and the list goes on and on. Bottom line...this isn't a real hot sale at all, but the sale the last few weeks was. Sorry for those who missed out and get duped by these prices.

Yea, I noticed this on some clearance shirts also. Obviously I didn't buy any of them.
