This is not the current generation for those wondering (5th generation is current). This is a good deal though since it is new. This same iPod touch goes for $149 refurbished on Apple's website. Apple charges tax in most states which puts it at around the same price.

From the reviews I have read online, the 4th generation iPod Touch does not have a great camera compared to the current, 5th generation iPod Touch and the iPhone 4 and above models. So whether or not it takes "great pictures/videos" depends on your definition of great. I'm sure for most people it would be fine. And it indeed will hold "at least 50 songs." According to everymac.com it holds about 1,750 songs.
