The StayCharged are low-drain. All rechargeables loose their charge over time (even if they are sitting in a drawer) - from what I remember of the regular rechargeable batteries, if you leave them without being charged for a month or two, they're completely dead and need to charged again. I think Duracell advertises 70% charge remaining on the StayCharged after 1 year of sitting without use. I've had no trouble using them 3-4 months after charging but haven't tried longer.
They also sell chargers that charge up to 4 at a time, and they're very inexpensive! Great return on investment considering you can recharge and reuse the batteries over and over!

i got some rechargeables last year but havent even used them since Staples keeps giving away free batteries
