Can this stream media from a NAS?

hxp said:   Can this stream media from a NAS?

Yes

did it get hot quickly?

Thats what I was reading from the similar products reviews that after an hour or so, the product get hot and shutdown by itself, then you have to hard reset etc.

any comments on that?
Can you install other apps from the google play?

also if you have it, can the smart phone be used as remote? any app recommendation? or have to get the external remote for $20.00?

No signs of bluetooth right?

How do you control it?

Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse?

Video Review (similar specs unit)

Ordered one and a gyro mouse.

9.5 reseller ratings are questionable though with reviews like this:
"I have buy a item for this site, and they are very fast shiply, and very good item arrive to me. the customer service are very very good"

is there any way to get a real ethernet cable into one of these things? Are any USB ethernet adpaters compatible?

the FAVI Entertainment Wireless Keyboard he has at the end of the video looks like it'd be awesome with this.

This is the main use I would want for it. I imagine they could load, but I would want to know if they are lag-free or not.

It has flash, and there is a CBS android app although I don't have any first hand use of it.

any Canadian kids channels are available on Android?

These are awesome, but I did hear about an overheating issue with them. I wonder if it would help if you put them in front of a fan.

The MK802 got hot, but this model only gets warm.

Beware of the wifi issue on MK808. i have mk802+,ug802,and mk808. The wifi issue is the worst on MK808, might have to go buy a usb Ethernet dongle soon. Latest firmware 10/26 made it slightly better, but not a good fix.

Connecting it directly to router makes this issue irrelevant correct? (I deboarded the techno-train in college)

Does this have a mic? so you can use new google search in Jellybean (like Siri)? or can you connect a USB mic and get it to work?

Many of the TV stations have apps for watching their shows. I've used my androids in the past on websites without problems. I'm not sure if that's still possible with many sites and the new OS. Also, some of the Apps may not like the device.

I saw several Google Apps listed, but not Google Play? I wonder if it runs that, and is recognized, so you can download new apps without having to sideload them?

Also, I assume you can hook up a bluetooth or USB joystick and play games like ShadowGun from your couch? - that would be awesome!

It never gets hot, only when really stressed does it even get warm.
It has a heatsink inside that is double the size of any of the other models I checked on and covers about 80% of the entire board inside it.
Google Play works and you can install just about anything that doesn't specifically require only a touchscreen to run but Netflix and Skype and youtube and things like that all run perfectly.
To make your android phone work as a wireless remote for the TV Box you install droidmote on the phone and the TV Box and that is it the phone becomes the remote control.

Like I said earleir its awesome.

1 more thing for the person above asking about the microphone I use this for Skype cheap and easy, http://www.amazon.com/eForCity-Adapter-Internet-phones-programs/...

Outside normal use, I got the nes emulator and picked up for $4 a usb nes knock off controller, I now have ever nintendo game my heart desires. I am doing the same with SNES and N64, and Sega. So far they all run fine. Anything beyond that I am sure it cant handle. I ordered a very generic USB controller that should work for all those systems.

That one a Lenovo mini keyboard/mouse combo. Works great. Also got USB NES replica controller, and a generic usb game controller.
