Haven't bought desktop in 8 years..tempted to replace old one.. Experts..is this a good deal to jump in....? Especially with BF nearing.. Thx

Its a dual core pentium CPU. I use one for connecting to VPN with basically the same config as this. Its not going to win awards, but for basic use, this is a fine system to work with.
I built might off a special @ Newegg about 9 months ago for $199, so while this could probably be built by hand much cheaper, this is still a decent price
Tiger direct got a bare bones kit for under $200 dollars that is way better than this

I jumped on this one. We were toying w/ the best buy tower for $279 but this is bigger, better, stronger, faster, or at least that's what the salesguy said. I will give up a couple bucks to avoid craziness on black friday deals.
