For those who don't know this router is DD-WRT compliant and Gargoyle supported & arguably is the best bang for the buck.

Before you scream REPOST, please be aware that stock from all previous posts <$40 have been sold out. There is a rebate that expires on 12/1. If you want to order from the sites mentioned in the previous posts, you risk your rebate not being fulfilled b/c your credit card will be charged on the day the product ships (7-14 biz day wait on average).

Discover gives 12% CB at J&R today if you sign up for the extra 5% promotion.

FYI, the TPLINK 3600 model overall performs better than the 4300 model. It also has a smaller rebate ($30). So I would say the 3600 is the best bang for the buck.

I was buying the sennhesiser CX870 buds anyway so I used the $10 coupon at J&R on the 3600. After rebate, 12% discover CashBack and coupon the 3600 will cost me $24 shipped.

Wow blows. I never applied for Discover....ouch wish I had it now. Double blows b/c I could have saved 12% on my galaxy note 10.1...

Discover sometimes have promos where you get $200 CashBack after you spend $1000 in three months when you apply for a card. Keep a look out for that. That's what I did. I even already had a Discover card and applied for another one with this promo and still got the $200 CashBack.

The 3600 I linked which is a better performer at $1 less is still available. Smaller rebate too.

can you post a link to the review showing that the 3600 is a better performer? Would love to take a look....

Where can I find the DD-WRT for this WDR4300.

Thanks

Install Gargoyle instead.

http://www.gargoyle-router.com/

Instructions:
https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?pid=181966#p181966

NOTE:Browse to your existing router admin page or program and note down the following details, you might need them in step 15
- current IP address (not 192.xx.xx.xx)
- subnet mask
- gateway IP address
- router MAC address or clone MAC address

1. Downloaded the firmware for this router from http://www.gargoyle-router.com/downloads/images/ar71xx/gargoyle_...
2. renamed the downloaded file as gargoyle.bin
3. Connected router to the computer via ethernet cable
4. Browsed (on IE/FF) to 192.168.0.1
5. You will prompted for login use (admin/admin)
6. Click the link on the left menu that says something like "System"
7. Find and click "Firmware upgrade" link
8. In the Firmware upgrade page, click button that says something like "select file"
9. Select the file "gargoyle.bin" from step 2
10. Click "upgrade" button
11. Wait for about 5 mins
12. Browse on (FF/IE) to 192.168.1.1
13. You will be prompted for password, use "password" with out the quotes
14. You will be prompted for new password, type in your new password and jot it down some place safe
15. Refer screenshots at http://www.gargoyle-router.com/wiki/lib/exe/detail.php?id=screen... to configure

I guess I lucked out. I live in an apt and everything is within 3-5m distance....the difference seems striking at the 10m mark. Hopefully it doesn't affect me too much.

Thanks NAMLOOK, I will use your info when the product arrive

is this concurrent dual band for full N bandwidth?

I am thinking about getting one of these, don't currently use the 5ghz band but really want a N 2.4 router with really good range. There are not too many routers with external antennas, looking at these TP Link or an Asus router. Router will be in basement and I need it to reach first and second floor. My current Netgear wnr3500 works OK but range isn't the greatest and no external antennas.

Thinking about getting the 3600. Would the router arrive in time for the rebate (status says on order from manufacturer). I suppose I can use the order email as my receipt as long as it's dated before 12/1.

In order to use the 10 off coupon code, need to buy 5 bucks filler.

Thanks OP, in for a 3600!

I flashed with gargoyle, but my wireless icon on my router is no longer flashing and I cannot get into TP link configuration page. I think I need to reflash to the original firmware...can someone help? I dig some basic searches but am a bit clueless...thanks

Anyone get the rebate form? please
