Balanced flavors are drawn evenly from all the grinds. So what is the best way to prepare the grinds for an even extraction? Rather than starting with bursts of high pressure, a steady low pressure pre-infusion gently expands the grinds before stepping up to high pressure for an even extraction.

Very Good price...but it was never $800. Normal Amazon price has always been $500.

^ Agreed on both points. It's amazing how many people fall for Amazon's "List Price".

There are many better routes

Dont blindly jump on this

^ Agreed again. Even though it has been pointed out to OP before...they still insist on putting inflated MSRP's in their title to make the deal look "hotter" than it really is.

Breville is kinda known for shiny stuff that breaks easily.

Around that price point, IMO your best option is definitely the Saeco Via Venezia available from Seattle Coffee Gear w/ a $25 gift card and free extended warranty for $300. There may be better deals, but this is at least pretty good. This one uses a pressurized portafilter just like the Breville to allow you a lot of flexibility with your grind/coffee quality. Additionally, there is some upgradability with this model as your skills improve and you want to get some higher quality shots, you can get a normal (de-pressurized) portafilter for about $50 and pull shots much like professional baristas do (this would also require a high quality burr grinder though).
