This in an interesting gadget for educational purpose. Does anyone have experience on it? How precisely it can identify objects? It mentions the capability to identify man-made device. Really? Can it identify a satellite?

It works fine. I tried one. As for satellites, it could easily calculate the positions of all satellites and tell you if you're pointing at one. Only issue is pointing accuracy. It may think you are pointing at something else.

Very cool! And I don't need any kind of monthly or yearly subscription?

Just thinking out loud here...would the star chart and google sky apps deprecate a device like this?
