I dont see that it can take an sd card for extra memory? Am I missing something?

If the only upgrade is the operating system (4.0) over the org. A1 (2.3)then look else where. The A1 had a single core and has a poor touch surface. I have one and while it works fine for simple basic items it does die regularly and will not restart without a total discharge and recharge. If they have made other improvements to the unit then it is worth a look.

Really, for a 10 year old, this should be fine for $129. Kindle doesn't have camera and both are much more expensive.
