It isn't a similar card. It is a completely different architecture. The difference in bit width of memory interfaces means nothing unless the cards are the same gpu.
The GeForce GTX 660 is a great value card! I bought one recently and it plays all my games well at 1900x1200. If you're concerned about FPS, it may not be the right card. But if you're looking for performance at high-resolutions, and don't want to break the bank, this is a recommended upgrade.

I have a Sapphire 7850 2GB OC'd to 1175/5800 and it is slower in EVERYTHING than my Galaxy GTX660 at 1100/6700 at 1080p. Granted, the difference is not huge, but the 660 is for sure faster. If you run 1600p resolutions, you would want to be running a minimum of a 7950 "Boost" anyway.
This is a pretty solid deal for $180, not quite as good as the $165 Galaxy GTX660 deal from the other week, but the Zotac has a better cooler.

Thanks OP. Have been waiting on a deal on a 660. Hopefully my PS is big enough. Not sure why they list a 600 Watt PS in the specs, from all I've read it does not use anywhere near that much power.

I have a Corsair 450W PSU, granted it's made by Seasonic so it's underrated, but the 660 works fine in mine. I think 450-500 is all you need, depending on all the other hardware you're running.

That is what I was figuring, thanks. i5-760, 1 hard drive, dvd-burner, built-in wireless, not much else. I think I have a 500 watt, I'll be checking it when I get home. The 660 is replacing an 8800gt.

Depends on what you play. BF3 at 1920x1080 the 660 gets 82 frames, the 6870 gets 42.
