Meh, considering Nexus 4 offers Android 4.2 (vs 4.0.4) and is unlocked from the factory... it's harder to justify this deal.
Personally, I'd bite the bullet and go with T-Mobile's $30/5GB prepaid plan and Nexus 4. Tempting, yes, but you're within $100 of having the Cadillac CTS-V of Android superphones anyways.
P.S. LG and T-Mobile have the most rotten history of firmware updates ever. Remember Korea's G2x got ICS, LG even denied its existence to American customers... having to admit they lied when they posted the GPL kernel code for the ICS build months later.

Google Maps and CoPilot let you Cache individual areas/cities/regions/states. Cache the 150-500 MB of maps you need for the areas you will be in, forget about the rest to the cloud.

Not quite. $200 x 2 = $400
Nexus 4 8GB is $299.
Yes, I know, you're going to bring up the $50 prepaid credit. They may add it to the SIM... making it impossible to stack.
Plus the $30/5GB plan allows you to use Groove+GoogleVoice and call over VoIP or Skype. With Nexus 4, you don't need a $50/month plan.
You can only choose the $30/5GB plan at activation too, so that L9 will cost way more in the long run.

After 2 months, I realize that the 30MB data is woefully inadequate. What are my options now? Thanks!

FWIW, last time I got a phone with that bit about the time card later, it had a time card in the box with it. Every device for the last few I've gotten have had the time card.

Questions:
- am i out of luck in getting the $30/5GB plan at this time? - can i start with a Pay More $70 card, but use it to deduct/pay only for the $30 or $50 plan, leaving the credit for the following month? - can i use said $70 card as a top-up card for a $30/$50/$70 plan, thus keeping my number? - do i have to keep getting new numbers assigned if i keep using new $70 cards? - if yes, then is there a hassle-free way to keep my number?

I currently have the prepaid $30 100 voice minute/ 5G data on an old T-Mobile galaxy phone. Could I just transfer that account to this $200 phone and get $50 of credit? I use next to no voice and the 5G of data is a good fit, so the other prepaid plans are undesirable to me.

FYI, if you are having a hard time checking out with this or any of their online deals then you've probably fallen foul of Tmobile's dirty little secret. I have not been able to purchase a phone through their website for a couple of years now. They make it seem like there is a problem processing your credit card but the real reason (that I eventually found out via a 2 hour conversation spanning 3 reps) is that you are on their "Black List".
They will offer no explanation as to why you are on it and it seems there is nothing you can do to get off it. They will happily sell me a phone through one of their retail outlets is all they would tell me. I had 4 pre-paid phones with these suckers and they didn't care! I got one off to AT&T (because I was able to get that prepaid plan cheaper) but the other 3 are cheaper with Tmobile, so I am stuck with them.
So my solution going forward is to get somebody else to buy the phone for me (worked every time I have tried this), or get one off eBay at a slight premium. Their store prices are never a good deal!
If anybody else wants to look further into why they can't check out, call them and do not waste time with credit verification etc. just mention the "Black List" (which they don't really see to want to acknowledge until you get further up the chain) and see what they say.

Assuming the sim is the same size in both phones and the credit is in the form of a refill card, you could just transfer it and deposit the $50 in the old account - no need to activate the new phone with a new line (although you might want to do that to get FW CashBack). If the sim is a different size, you will need to get to a store and have them change it.

Just and FYI. Anybody care to compare this to Republic Wireless. As i see it comparable T-Mobile plan is $50/Monthly and add phone cost that would easily be more than $500 for the year. Republic Wireless Phone+1yr service is about $500. Second year $250. Assumption you change the phone every two years and Republic wireless still exits. Possibility of republic wireless improving seems much more now that Sprint has bid for clearwire.

I'm on the black list too.
Can we make that a Fatwallet badge? It should be solid black, like the Spinal Tap album cover. And Metallica, though they copied Spinal Tap.
And then I want a badge that says I had a badge made for me. Compound deal, like all great FW deals.

The impression I got was that you were on for life, no way off, nobody else to talk to. I was pretty miffed at the conversation by the end of it.
