Grabbed the coffeemaker... reviews on the blender are horrendous, so I'm trying to figure out if I want to spend half a sawbuck on something that sounds marginal. Either way, thanks OP.

For $7.99 you can't even buy a good shaker cup. A cheap blender probably won't cut it for smoothies and frozen adult beverages, but for meal replacement shakes this would be good to have around.

Some of the bad blender reviews were clearly written by idiots and or those who should know not to put ice in this.
Are you really going to take these people's advice?
"It's cheap for a good reason, and that is it doesn't work good. The blades don't smoothy the ice. Added water and tried for 15 minutes but still no good."
"Full of light weight and very easily breakable. It is giving lot of noice and button too is not working properly. Blade is very small, so if we want grind very small item then it wont grind properly."
