Saw these in-store and they looked awful, one was already cracked at the bottom. Plastic looked mighty thin.

I bought a bunch of the 18 gallon containers with some coupons a couple of years ago. They work great for all of the Christmas stuff vs. a bunch of cardboard boxes of varying sizes. With coupons, I was paying around $2.68 each (5 off 15 coupons).

Agree. Bought 4 of the 18 gallon totes yesterday to store Christmas things. If your intent is to store things like books and tools, then do not get these. However, if all you want to do is to store lightweight things instead of using cardboard boxes, then this is the way to go.
