As I am sure everyone knows, Staples uses VistaPrint. They have so many free 250 business card deals, with the same outrageous shipping, that it is mind boggling. Of course if you could get this in-store, you could use rewards to pay shipping (unless there is a free ship-to-store option, but I doubt it).

VistaPrint prints their brand on the back of the free cards. Does Staples do that as well?

The back is solid white, no printing. You can pay extra to do the back. Also, the 99 cent cards are paper stock, non-glossy. If you want your graphics/logo to pop, you'll need to pay the upcharge to glossy. Tack on shipping after all of this, and not the best price around. However, the quality is pretty good (from past experience).

Actually, in my experience, the glossy option has been inferior to the plain paper option from VistaPrint. The glossy cards seem to turn yellow a bit after awhile. Even when new, the standard paper seems whiter, thus making logos "pop". This was a while back, so I can't comment on these. I've used VistaPrint for years, and I'm open to alternatives if anyone can recommend. Thanks.

only look for FREE shipping cards. Like the one MOO had over last couple of weeks. I know a person who made plenty of them, just had to call CS each time for free ship code.
But talking Staples, they had in-store deals every year - hunting one now. Never paid a penny for cards, no need to pay $11 retail craziness!

I used this link, and I got free shipping. I also ordered more than just the $0.99 business cards, I ordered $14.95 25 card magnets, and the $9.xx 10 business card metal holder (so they don't get damaged in my pocket).

Your "also" part worries me. How much are you out of pocket, and what got you free shipping?

what works: $11? or $20 purchase to avoid shipping? one can get better deal directly from VistaPrint. What we look for on FW is better deals than those that charge you under a modified heading "shipping" in current offer

If you're a premiere cust do you get free shipping? I talked to the csr at copy and print but he's not sure. He told me to call rewards.

When I did a similar deal before there was no free shipping even though I was premier at the time. Staples copy and print division is different from Staples.com and the free shipping does not carryover.

I was able to get free shipping after ordering $20 in cards. 99 cents is a great price for the base cards, especially if you are uploading your own logo, or are getting double sided cards like I did. Ended up ordering cards for my entire small business plus the office.
2000 cards, of 8 different designs, 7 of them double sided would have normally cost $331, thanks to the discount link I paid just under $100. Yes, I did get free shipping. Yes, every 250 I added after the free shipping threshold really only cost $1.
Thanks FatWallet! Saved +$200 plus was able to use my Staples Rewards and earn some points.

Does anyone knows how frequently this deal is being rotated throughout the year? I was able to get 4x 250 business cards for the promo price of 99c around 5 days ago, but 3 days ago I inquired on Staple customer service chat when the deal expires, they said on January 19th at 4PM. I just checked their website again and the deal/promo price of 99c is gone, and I wanted to place more orders with new designs that I have made, but was disappointed.
