It can take a long time until these free subscriptions start coming, but they do eventually come and there’s no catch!

Is there a reason why people are going for the 26 week sub vs. the 39 week sub?

Yes. Because they are (were) not aware of it.
Thanks!

26 weeks of issues

Too bad the subscription isn't for 6 months of issues.

It takes no more than 2 weeks to start the subscription. Problem is , I prefer the web version of the paper.

Last time I checked, 26 weeks = 182 days. A month is roughly 30 days. So your this free subscription would be for 182/30 = 6.066 months.

52 Weeks would be a full year worth of issues (12 months).
26 is half of 52
Which would mean it is 6 months.
I think the poster wasnt being serious and was just joking as to why they called it 26 weeks vs. 6 months

Any idea if they include coupon inserts in the Philly region?

The WSJ doesn't have supermarket coupons

you would have to get the Philly Inquirer on Sundays

Or clip them from the Public library when no one is looking.

It does in the Atlanta market.

Thanks OP!

Sometime it does.

For magazines that are published on monthly / semimonthly basis, subscription is on # of months basis.
For newspapers, that are published daily, it's always based on # of days or weeks. It's never in terms of months, since all months don't have same number of days.

Yes it does take a long time to start but I am now receiving the paper 6X a week reliably. Also, WSJ customer service is excellent, even for the free subs.

Thanks OP

Cincinnati also.

In for one!

In for 1. Thanks

Thanks OP. Green for you.

If the started date is in January or Febrary, 26 weeks will be 6 months + 1 day.
If the started date is in March ~ July, 26 weeks will be 6 months - 1 day.

So sign up and start it by 2/28, and you will get better deal than 6 months free.

nice! thx op!

Thanks!

New subscriptions only. Renewals not accepted and points will be deducted and not refunded. When did RW get so hostile?

Awesome. Time to extend my 2014 sub.

thanks.

Ignore the no renewal wording. I can't even tell you how many times I've successfully renewed WSJ with these free "new subscription only" offers.

i get them
i dont read them

save some trees

posted in freebies section...not sure who was first though.

nvm, looks like you were the winner by 5 hours or so.

My current subscription expires in October 2013. Is it possible to renew this subscription, or to start a new subscription in October 2013, using this offer? If so, how would I do that? I'm not familiar with RewardZone...

I got the 12 week free subscription back last March. It is still being delivered.

I'm now getting two free copies simultaneously, but am afraid to contact them and end up getting nothing (the original free sub has been ongoing for 2+ years).
Have any FWers had a similar situation? Were you able to correct it without losing the subscription entirely?

Thanks OP

To those that are receiving the WSJ, you can manage your account online. From your newspaper, get your account number which is right above your name and address. Go to: https://customercenter.wsj.com Once you register, you can start & stop your subscription, change your mailing address and check you subscription expiration date. I have had several free subscriptions and by registering this helps a bunch.

Call them, they will fix it. I've merged many subscriptions before, they don't bat an eye.

Good deal! I love the smell of the free newspaper in the morning!!!!

I applied. Hopefully it comes.

I remember the last time I did this and they kept sending me the paper for like 9 months straight. That plus my local paper and magazine subscriptions is reading was overload for me.

Great deal, assuming it shows up. Thanks OP.

Thanks

I did this last time, got it no problem. It did take several weeks to start. We plan to do THIS with them, only larger logs.

Thanks for that info. I'll give them a call.
My issues are delivered the new/old fashioned way, with a guy tossing them off the back of a moving station wagon.
They don't have a label on them, so I'll have to get my account number from a WSJ CSR.

Skipping 23 Messages...

Yes. Because they are (were) not aware of it.
Thanks!
